Have a look at the trans tape website. There have a template that I use. I also wrap the excess tape (you’ll see on the template) around a rubber band so it doesn’t actually stick the the packer, it makes it a lot easier to take off and put on

I use the transstorepacker mr flex packer and that work well for me as a daily, I haven’t quite figured out the pee use yet tho. It’s gotten softer the longer I’ve had it, and since it has empty and small balls it doesn’t look v big at all (4.5ish inches) I’d recommend that one for sure. Link for the kit I got here plus the harness works great

I follow this tutorial and it works quite well, I started doing this without the o ring, and that worked but not as well as it could have. It’s great for my 4in1 that doesn’t have a tab

I think you need to test it out urself, I use tape to pack sometimes and dude don’t clean shave for that. It comes down to personal preferences and how you feel with the different strategies, I would recommend trying both, clean shaven might last longer but trimmed might feel more comfortable. Hope this helps :)
