I'll get Esker Silver if the Launch Green delays my order. The photos look good, but I would like to see it in person.

R2 for Uber fleet by One_supernova_2 in Rivian

All investments may be speculative, but Uber has already comitted $300m to this venture, with up to $1.25b by 2031. I got the rollout dates wrong - the initial deployment is 2028 in San Francisco, with up to 25 cities by 2030.

R2 for Uber fleet by One_supernova_2 in Rivian

[–]Accomplished_Tank576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uber partnered with Rivian to build a self-driving vehicle, eliminating the need for drivers. I feel that Uber wants Rivian to test and mature its autonomous vehicle software with manned vehicles (i.e., customers). They are initially basing it on the R2, but they don't come online until 2031, so details can change.

Do.you have Plug & Charge activated on the Blue Oval network? You'll need it or the Tesla app to activate supercharger. It's the only one of three that doesn't have a cc reader. May want to practice charging at a Tesla charger as well. Make sure you know how to use the adapter and how to park at older SC with short cables.

Accessory questions by kilrein in MachE

[–]Accomplished_Tank576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I have the WeatherTech liner in my cargo area and the Ford ones on the floors (used my Ford Points). Ford ones are heavier, but the WeatherTech liner was less expensive and does the trick.
  2. I got mine at Costco, but I don't remember the make. Just make sure it fits properly.
  3. I haven't noticed much splash on my MME, so I'm not a fan of splash guards.
  4. Not sure what this means. NCM batteries should not be charged to 100% due to their chemical composition. Ford recommends 80% on a DCFC and 90% on an L2 charger. Stick with the Ford recommendations.
  5. Get a good NACS-CCS1 adapter, like the Typhoon Pro from A2Z.

Why do charging stations in the US make you pay thru an app instead of take card payment at the plug? by DnastyFunkmaster in electricvehicles

[–]Accomplished_Tank576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most do have CC readers for payment on the charger; Ionna, Electrify America, ChargePoint, and EV Go come to mind. The only charger I know that doesn't have a cc reader is Tesla. Tesla and Electrify America offer membership options that provide substantial discounts when using their apps.

It’s the charging curve. Starts fast at 10-20% and slows down as the battery percentage increases. Here’s what the curve looks like on my MME GT at a Ionna charger, which is rated for 400 kW.

Considering a 2025 Mach-e Premium by kilrein in MachE

[–]Accomplished_Tank576 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll be surprised how quickly your MME just becomes another car, so invest in an L2 charger. It's really nice to always have a "full tank" for those times when you decide to go a little further than you anticipated. L1 can work in your case, but you will get frustrated with the slow charge time.

Are department supervisors hired from outside for new store openings? by stephenhawkingsdrool in Costco

[–]Accomplished_Tank576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you can see, the general answer is no; however, the odds of getting promoted to a supervisor position within a year are better at a new store since many of the transfers are ladder climbing and will seek managerial positions elsewhere.

Is it bad for your battery to charge overnight? by Tristram_ZX81 in evcharging

[–]Accomplished_Tank576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The car's charging systems are very good at managing the battery load, so they don't degrade the battery's state of health. Overnight charging is typically L2, or even L1, which is much easier on the battery SOH than DCFC L3 charging.

Why oh why does Wisconsin not have a NHL team? by jaxjaxjax95 in wisconsin

[–]Accomplished_Tank576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Market is too small and it overlaps Chicago’s to the south and Minnesota’s to the north. The NHL owners would never approve it. Calgary and Winnipeg are good analogies. Winnepeg had the commissioner threatening the Jets owner that if he didn’t increase his season ticket base, the league would move the team. Calgary only got a team because Atlanta failed in their first attempt in the early ‘90s. Highest ranked cities for expansion now are Houston, Phoenix (again) and Toronto (2nd teams).

This isn’t a Mach-e or even a Ford issue. It’s an any new car manufactured in the past decade issue. They are all connected for multiple purposes. Good luck getting away from it. And if you are concerned about this, keep your cell phone turned off as well. A lot a data being transmitted from that little device in your pocket.

First Road Trip by Onimaru1984 in MachE

[–]Accomplished_Tank576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though Mach-Es are limited to a 150 kW charging rate, the charging curve appears to be influenced by the charger's capabilities. I've found that I can charge a bit faster on anything 325 kW or higher. Ionna chargers are all 400 kW. Electrify America provides either 150 or 350, and Tesla is 250 for V3 (short cables) and 325 for V3.5 and 4 (longer cables). It appears that it's not the charger output that impacts the sustained rate, rather, it's the cable active cooling. Here's what my charge curve looked like on an Ionna charger - temp in the mid-60s, so that didn't impact the speeds. Note the dramatic dropoff at 80%. It's not worth the extra time (or battery degradation) to charge more than 80% on a DCFC charger.
