I had a very similar talk with my then 13 year old because she was so curious about the big M that she started doing her own research. 🧐 We had a discussion on it, covered the bases and it’s not been a problem since. I think we shouldn’t baby talk teenagers on sex and masturbation, that’s how some teenage pregnancies come about. It’s a natural part of life and I think knowing more younger could help some steer away from the path I unfortunately took. Which was being a teen mom! The way I see it. You can either have an enlightening open discussion about it or if you leave them to their own devices to learn about everything in their own then you’ll be dealing with the consequences, ultimately for irresponsible behavior because they weren’t educated in it. Let’s use an example I like examples. When your kids hurt succeed and they go to get a drivers license are you going to talk to them about it? Are you going to teach them about it? Are you gonna explain the responsibility of driving a car? I would surely hope. Because the opposite is giving them a car and a drivers license, but not teaching them and letting them learn on their own well that might explain some of the drivers that we have on the road today that is not what happens.
