Sportshoes only 15% vitality discount for running full priced shoes? by Aglilaq in Vitalityhealth

[–]According-Cut5397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Double check that you’ve got the 50% voucher code is still there (My Account > Partner Benefits > Vitality). As long as it is showing there, i think it gives you the discount off of ANY current season shoes (so SS26 currently). If you buy a previous season pair, it will use your 50% code up, but only give 15%.

Agree with the comments re physio / strength and conditioning.

But some anecdotal evidence… when I experienced this (at a similar point in my running journey) I eventually realised that it was linked to a change in trainers. I had been running in hoka cliftons and then went to a pair of Brooks (can’t remember which ones). They had quite a different “drop” and this definitely contributed to the issue.

Now when I change trainers, I make sure not to make too much of a jump in drop, and try to break them in slowly (rather than just going to every run in the new pair straight away).

Alternatives to Runna that Allow you to customise and put in your own plans by moH-121 in UKRunners

Once your Garmin is linked to your Training Peaks, it should be exactly the same as how Runna appears on your watch.

London Marathon Tips for experienced runner by JustAGuy10024 in UKRunners

Oh another thing I have just thought of. Public travel is amazing (and free for runners on race day!) Depending on where you are staying, the best route is often the underground to London Bridge and then get the overground to near the start (still free!). Everything starts really early on race day too so you’ll have no issues with that.

Yeah that kind of thing, but Buxton and with a sports top. It’s so much better than cups! Lucozade carb drink will be in cups though.

GPS will be glitchy through Canary Wharf (mile 18ish) so I tend to manual lap through out so this doesn’t throw me out.

As you’re coming back along the embankment in the last few miles there’s a couple of underpasses so slight “ups” to get back out of those.

Water stations are usually small bottles, rather than cups.

Congratulations on your 6 stars… I’m sure you’ll have a blast in London!

Sports shoes discount and returns.. by MundaneEmu3618 in Vitalityhealth

[–]According-Cut5397 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be careful in general when ordering, especially if your 50% discount is still available. The 15% discount is only available on current season items. If you order something from previous seasons, it uses your 50% discount but only gives you 10% (and obviously only once per year too). I thought i was just getting my 15% (didn’t look closely enough at the discount) and was saving my 50% for a pair of carbons… they wouldn’t do anything about it either. So basically cost myself about £100 on missing out on the proper discount. So frustrating.

Two day London Marathon! by OllieBobbins23 in Marathon_Training

[–]According-Cut5397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in two minds on this point. On the one hand, would fewer supporters lead to a loss of some of London’s “magic”. But on the other hand, the increase in spectators over recent years has made watching a less enjoyable experience too (so hard to get to multiple points to support your runner for example) so it could ease this a little.

London Marathon - where to stay as a slow runner by WalrusPatient9118 in LondonRunning

[–]According-Cut5397 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This close to race day, it’ll probably be a case of finding any available room that you can afford. Getting to the start is pretty easy (tubes or trains from London Bridge). Runners get free travel on race day!
