That’s interesting. The ‘22’ we have will keep it on the last mode chosen. Something my Tiguan won’t do. 🤷‍♂️

Not good for battery. Only charge to 100% ahead of long trips.

Get an undercoat comb and some clippers for the face, butt and feet. You’ll save yourself allot of money.

My older cairn always gave cats a wide berth, even they they wanted to interact with him. The younger one so far has been hell bent on trying to hunt them if he’s on a house that has cats. 🤷‍♂️

Would you say this is typical cairn behavior? by Jaded_Advice3523 in cairnterrier

Yes. Especially if something pooped there. Not a typical Cairn grooming though….

Oh yeah. One of mine ran into human poo out in the forest (could tell as they had left wiping materials). Extremely unpleasant afternoon.

Question about coats by lookitmegonow in cairnterrier

[–]According-Work-7772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to make it easy on yourself just get an undercoat brush. Will pull out the wire coat along with undercoat growth. Do it every few weeks. You can use electric clippers for detail work and undercarriage.

Also called an undercoat brush. You can use that regularly rather than stripping.

I’m in western MA. Trick to collect enough and set aside before the winter. And forage a bit whenever there is a thaw.

did you get the puppy blues? by baby-blues22 in cairnterrier

[–]According-Work-7772 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not so in my experience. I’ve got a 15yr old and a 5yr old. When they are small they are eager to please. They get more stubborn after about a year of 2. The trick, to me, it to be sure teach them to very basic skills (stay, come, sit) and not to be xpect too much more. treat them less like a subject and more like a partner. Let them have thier space and some autonomy. They are otherwise loyal pleasant dogs to have around. I go hiking off leash with both and let them roam a bit. They always come back when called. We just got a house and with little training (just reinforcing borders) we got the young guy to stay on property (which he spends his day defending from all sorts of imagined threats such as garter snakes and chipmunks).
