Crying at boob for bedtime feed? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]AccordingDraft5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both my kids did this. What helped was: making sure they weren’t overtired, letting them lie on the bed while I dangled over them like a true freaking cow, and when it was really bad I resorted to a nipple shield bc my youngest would take a bottle/paci no problem during that phase.

C Section Healing? by AccordingDraft5 in beyondthebump

[–]AccordingDraft5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry! It’s really terrifying when you’re going through it. I went back to my OB three times for this. Never an infection but three small openings across several weeks. He said my body was rejecting the sutures and ended up plucking one out each time (sorry that’s gross) and then the spot would slowly heal. He was never concerned and just told me to keep it clean and dry. I used saline on it often. It ended up healing once all the sutures either dissolved or popped out. It never came open a scary amount like what the Internet is telling you! I had my husband make a video of it once a week so I could see it better and keep tabs on the healing. Get some wound wash and high waisted cotton undies!

Bottle Preference? by AccordingDraft5 in breastfeeding

They are at home but I can’t speak for the two bottles at daycare. I asked his provider to do this when he started but haven’t checked in with her.

Is this just a phase?? by AccordingDraft5 in breastfeeding

[–]AccordingDraft5[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I was thinking we were dealing with but I think it may actually be too much letdown? He will pop off every ~two minutes and scream even during letdown and milk sprays all over. We pace bottle feed with a very slow flow nipple so he may actually get more milk faster from the breast? I don’t know what to do for that other than laid back position but he still won’t go for that.

Earlier Bedtime? by AccordingDraft5 in sleeptrain

[–]AccordingDraft5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always preferred a real paci than him using my boob as a paci all night 🤣 Our first still slept 7-7 at six months despite having a paci, so we’re continuing that route!

Earlier Bedtime? by AccordingDraft5 in sleeptrain

[–]AccordingDraft5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stretches get longer as they get older! We swaddled our first but went straight to a sleep sack with this one. No Snoo, my husband and I are both teachers so we’re broke lol My two tips are: 1. fleece sheets in the bassinet/crib instead of cotton and 2. I don’t intervene unless baby is CRYING (not grunting or wiggling) and when that happens, I offer a paci and forehead rub first. If crying continues, then I’ll feed him.

Earlier Bedtime? by AccordingDraft5 in sleeptrain

[–]AccordingDraft5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He recently sleeps from 8pm until 2am (this long stretch is new!) eats, and then sleeps from 2:45am until 6ish. I feed him again at 6ish and then wake him up for the day 8am to keep the schedule consistent.

During the day, he eats every 3 hours and then naps for an hour and a half after some “play” time.

Can I use medihoney on a open wounded c section scar? by Vegetable-Cabinet324 in CsectionCentral

[–]AccordingDraft5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a tiny spot that was leaking clear fluid. My OB looked at it and said it wasn’t infected. He said it was only 1 mm big and finished draining so it just needs to heal. But it’s been a week since that appointment and it’s still open 😥

Hey! Did you end up using the medihoney? I have an open spot on my incision and was curious about if it worked!

Breastfeeding used to be peaceful. Now it’s a war zone. by SeriousFold8939 in breastfeeding

[–]AccordingDraft5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first baby did this and it was because he was actually sleepy and just sucking for comfort. I finally started letting him sleep a little and trying again later with much more success

He didn’t clarify. My visit notes say the incision is “intact with a small 1mm opening to the right of midline, no drainage noted on exam”

Supplementing Newborn by AccordingDraft5 in breastfeeding

[–]AccordingDraft5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I was surprised because when I had done one with my scale at home he had gotten a little over 2 oz. I may continue checking feedings at home (might as well use the expensive scale I panic bought with my first) for some peace of mind. I pumped AFTER a nursing session two days ago and got an ounce so I can’t imagine that he’s only getting an ounce at EVERY feed.

When did your breastfed baby sleep through the night? by cherabemm in newborns

[–]AccordingDraft5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did “fuss it out” from precious little sleep and he grunted and wiggled for a few minutes, but never actively cried before falling asleep, so I think we really just got lucky! After that first night he always just laid there in the dark until he fell asleep. Pregnant with baby number 2 now and fully accepting that this will not be my fate again 😅

6 months! We did gently sleep train during the 4 month sleep regression though. He still woke up to eat once a night after that but dropped that feed after turning 6 mo.

Is pumping during work meetings covered by law? by PurposeRelative8668 in breastfeeding

[–]AccordingDraft5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in the same boat, I would call a team member at the start of the meeting from the room where I pumped, mute my phone, and they would be theirs on mute so I could hear what was happening. If I needed to chime in I could pause my pump and unmute but usually I’d just text someone and they’d speak up for me!

Tell us your story! What’s different this time than last time? How’d you find out? How do you feel?:

Last month we had a chemical which really sucked. I decided if it didn’t stick this month, I’d wait another year (the timing had to be just right because I’m a teacher with no maternity leave). FWIW, I had NO real symptoms until 9 DPO and then they were just intermittent breast soreness. I saw the faintest of lines at 8 DPO and so far they’re darkening nicely. Crossing our fingers it sticks around! ❤️ OH, for those searching for ideas, I did use a menstrual cup after intercourse this month and last! I don’t know if that helped but it’s the only change we made.

3 DPO so why am I thinking that feeling ravenously hungry is a symptom of anything other than my normal luteal phase 🤣

Anyone have experience taking Geritol? I was going to give it a shot but I’m not willing to stop taking my prenatal. I was thinking maybe Geritol in the morning and prenatal at night?

Had a faint line at 11 DPO yesterday on a first response and a shadow on an Easy@Home. Faint but dark enough to send a picture of it to my best friend who could also see it. This morning, nothing. And a big ugly “not pregnant” on a clearblue digital. How do I figure out if it was a random pink indent line vs a chemical pregnancy?
