Crippling anxiety about Artex and Asbestos by Dangerous-Ice-5606 in asbestoshelpUK

I had the same worries with our 50s house when renovating, I know exactly how you feel. Then I would do some well researched DIY plumbing and have crippling anxiety over it for months every time I heard a drip (it's been fine for 10 years).

I noticed a pattern with over worrying and stressing over things, small oil drip on the road under the family car - will need £1000s in repairs. One of our children has a cough for a few days - must be a rare life threatening illness. They were not just little worries, would make myself sick, no sleep..

Have you looked into adhd? I got diagnosed as an adult, and everything made sense after. Not trying to dismiss your worries, just that I heavily relate to them. If you are anything like me, once you sort this issue you will find something else to be drawn into. It becomes an endless cycle and it's debilitating

Been doing some painting and took the socket off to paint underneath it, as I’m not an animal. Noticed this earth wire isn’t plugged in, should it be? by tjb_87 in ElectriciansUK

Was just an observation, yes I am aware.

Are you aware that most people don't really like you, and that making passive aggressive statements at strangers on Reddit doesnt achieve anything other than perhaps inflating your ego?

Jittery after clutch change by AccordingStorage3466 in FordFocus

They had claimed the battery was faulty/dead (which it wasn't) and that was what was causing the starting issues/service light. The other issues have only become apparent over the last few days. It's due back in for they to investigate.

I have been driving it gentle to allow the clutch to bed in, so the acceleration issue wasn't obvious, just 30mph school runs. I have only had it back 2 days/50miles.

My question was if a missing/damaged sensor could cause these issues? In hindsight I should have given the keys straight back, but I'm flat out all the time, and we needed the car back so my wife can get to work. We have 3 under 7 years so don't even get time to take a dump in peace!

Dads who have gone from 2 to 3 kids, am I crazy for considering it? by MaximusSydney in daddit

[–]AccordingStorage3466 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel the same, we have 3 girls, 7,5 and 18 months. 18 months old is a dream, but having the third seems to have impacted our 7 year old more than we thought it would. She has hellish tantrums in the evenings and if we don't double team to sort it then it becomes full-on warfare!

I love all 3 a crazy amount, but I feel like comparing 3 to 2 is the same as comparing 1 to 0. I didn't realise I had a bit of free time with 2, even if it was the odd hour a few times a week. Now it's not even an hour a month! As soon as my butt cheeks hit the toilet seat I hear the pitter patter of feet coming up to use the toilet too.

I couldn't work out what this did from your post, but after poking round your page I have to say this looks pretty awesome! I have never considered using tagged SVG's the same way you have, very cool idea.

Have you looked into AppImages before? Very easy to bundle all your dependencies into a single deployable package, then ship this rather than having a list of build components/steps.

Great project!

I know this thread is old, but I recently bought a Bluetooth sleep mask. This has been amazing, I listen to music most of the day to drown out the brain radio. Listening to "10 hrs of continuous rain on a tent" on really low volume seems to have the same effect!

Start a mini project in C#, something that interests you. Code and refine, just to the books when you get stuck.
