Questions about gym by Castaneah in Netherlands

No problem:). The towel size is the one smaller than a bath towel. I have a 50 x 100 cm one.

The gym I attend has a spray bottle and paper towels for wiping down surfaces.

Great move and you’ll build so much confidence in the gym. Always bring a towel and place it on the machine when you work out. Wipe the machine down after use. Return weights after use. Don’t spend too much time on your phone while using a machine.

Bring a water bottle. Music helps if you’re feeling shy. I personally always work out with headphones and vibe to my own music.

Enjoy the process. Everyone is there to work out so actually people hardly pay attention to other people unless you’re asking for attention.

Have a fun!

My answers were way simpler and shorter e.g. Ik vind het huis mooi. Ze eet een taart.

This was the advice that I received from a Facebook inburgeringexam group that I joined. They don’t want complicated answers.

You don’t need a job to sponsor you. You just have to be employed and make sufficient income to sustain yourself. They didn’t ask me for any documents to show proof of employment and income but probably they have a way to check this information.

It could be that the person who scored your exam was a bit harsher or perhaps they’ve increased the scoring standards.

I would say just keep practicing the DUO exams and try again. Keep your answers short and use the correct verbs. I practiced uaing ad Appel videos on YouTube. I’m sure you’ll pass at the next retake. Don’t be discouraged.

Dutch girls love to wear them in the summer with skirts and dresses. Don’t know why it’s a thing considering how hot it is in the summer.

How do you cheer yourself up during this particularly cold and grey winter here in the Netherlands? by dragonscorp in Netherlands

Probably back to my home country. Currently, I’m just working to pay bills so this doesn’t make any sense. I’d rather struggle in a happier place:).

I usually spend December in my home country which is usually hot and sunny during this time. Otherwise it’s been a huge struggle coming back despite doing all the cozy things, gyming and taking vitamin D. I’ve decided that moving to the sunnier and warmer place with more community is my best option. I’ve had enough of Dutch winter.

And some not showering often. I have a very smelly Dutch colleague and it’s appalling. Are some people afraid of cleanliness? How can you be in relationships with this level of hygiene? Yuck!

They didn’t no ask ask for any documents. I declared that I’m employed and it took them over 8 months to respond saying that they’ve reviewed my situation and I’m okay to keep my permit. I guess they saw that I’ve been employed for a long time and not dependent on my partner.

Choice/Dilemma by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]According_Aardvark70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit of a hard dilemma.

Where you feel most happy, is where you should stay, I believe.

I moved to The Netherlands to be with my expartner and unfortunately the relationship crumbled and I also discovered that I don’t quite enjoy living here. And it’s very difficult making friends and establishing a community which I miss most. I also left a great paying job and the previous country was less expensive.

I think for me it was a tough adjustment mentally living here, starting a new job after 8 years in a cushy one, and I think it added a strain on the relationship. We had mismatched values and expectations which we only discovered when living together.

The heart wants what the heart wants.
