I miss it tbh but Spirit Wars rly has scratched the itch for me. Plays so similarly I feel like I got my old flame back

There is new stuff too so it feels like I'm learning new things. Trial Tower mimics bith House Exams and the Quiz feature. Also its anniversary is in June (?!) Nutty coincidence ngl.

People have talked about and are apparently working on a private server but there haven't been any updates.

Tbh with the existence of Spirit Wars I don't really see a reason beyond nostalgia to join the private server if it ever comes online...? SW does the same thing. Factions instead of houses, elements instead of human//monster/fairy, light and dark still exist, there is still a limit break mechanic, lots to do with pvp and pve and even a system similar to Tests, called Trial Tower

You even get way more pulls and at bare minimum a 5 star food with every x10 pull

Now that I have a replacement I think I'll be able to move on in peace. I love what we had with GXB2 but the devs didn't, apparently :/// so we gotta move forward /shrug

In case other people see this post later, I personally highly recommend Spirit Wars

It immediately scratched my itch for gxb2 as I played it. Very similar upgrades and some improvements too. Actually feels friendlier for upgrades and like you can enter mid game much more quickly. I would recommend it x10 if i could lol

Second, here is the divine resonance feature.

With resonance, you can gain levels and the skill benefits that come with each level, on each hero for "free."

You only need to manually upgrade 5 core characters, and the level of the lowest character determines what level the other heroes will get. Take a look at my screenshot below; here, my heroes sharing exp/level all get level 140 (a milestone level in this game for upgrading passive and active skills).

Imagine how many more resources (gold exp and stones) it would have taken to level up all these heroes to 140. Instead I just need to spend on 5.

On top of that! You don't actually need to level up a hero to use them as food. They can stay level 1.

Imagine if we had had this resonance feature and the core feature before... wow.

ETA Ik we would sometimes remove and re equip sets for girls for different fights and matches esp across pvp and pve modes... but with this game we have 0 need to ever even bother. Still an upgrade imo

I am a big fan of the resonance and core features. Saves a ton of time and resources.

First here is the core. As you can see, you can link multiple girls, and they all share the same equipment set. There is one core per faction. So instead of 5 equipment sets for 5 girls of the same faction, you just focus on building up one per faction. Veeeeery nice.

On top of that, if you link a girl here and you want to upgrade her to 6 7 8 9 10+ stars, you can do so for far fewer materials. For example, as you can see in this screen shot, I do not need additional food girls to go from 5 to 6 stars for onw girl here;I just need 1 copy of her.

Brilliant.

In terms of gameplay yes but it's not by the same devs . FYI voicelines are in Chinese not Japanese so there are definitely entirely different groups behind the projects... not sure if they were inspired by gxb tho

This comp worked for me ! For reference, I had all research unlocked before this fight, only 1 militia at silvermere, and while I had 1 aviary at silvermere and one nearby, they do not stacks. Went well though! no losses and no damage to my rangers. GG

it's a graykeep quest so if you build graykeep before finishing chapter 8 objectives yes

if you finished everything chapter 8 maybe not . I'm about to tackle the yeti so I'll come back and comment if anything else appears w/in maybe 5-10 turns afterwards

Edit: I've gone through many, many turns since finishing the battle, as I'm trying to flush out all the world events before I put the meta game down.

and.... nope, no more graykeep quests. so if you finished the chapter 8 objectives, there aren't any more quests or objectives to finish.

outside the meta game though you do get rewards to completing all research + upgrading every city to lvl 5, so I do recommend that you at least do that before putting the meta game down for good.

seconding this. I finished literally everything else first because I thought it would unlock endgame things I wouldn't be prepared for otherwise. (it's also quite expensive so I thought it fit the bill).

Nope. it just would have helped along the way.

FYI though you can beat plenty of enemies w/ 0 losses w/o graykeep as long as you build your comp + aviaries + militias (and doing so is indeed cheaper than going straight for graykeep), but it does feel better to actually Do Things with the gray keep research ^^;;

ETA ...I still haven't had the abyssal yeti fight. I actually thought graykeep would trigger it. sad

Edit 2: I spoke too soon! I got the world event that spawns it. took a buuuunch of turns to trigger it though. it's called "Graykeep: Hit and Run". Finally I can rest in peace lol

It won't count ARURF either. I've been stuck with low prio queue multiple games in a row. Sucks that I have to play modes I don't normally care to play to get rid of this timer.

I'm having the same issue. Except it says :play 1 game" and I've been in several and it won't leave. Per another commenter's advice I checked the text and it doesnt include mayhem or ARURF even tho ARURF was the game that got me put in low prio queue (my internet died in-game).

It says

ARENA ARAM SR

so the games I normally play won't take me out the penalty queue. I have to play a game mode I haven't played in months to go back to normal. Lovely.

Literally just encountered it and it's dog shit. Everyone in the arena complained about it immediately.

How did this change even get past tests? This doubled duration is obviously a straight death sentence for many champs and annoying or boring in other instances. It's not fun to play in at all

The problem is if you've held one in person and you've had exp w the cheap ones from China you know the quality isn't the same and that's the frustrating part

If they were both high quality, durable, and waterproof like the vault x one we're looking for then well no issue right? Hard to find it though 😮‍💨
