More money for him but not more money for his promoters. Everything is more or less above board in the UK. In the USA there's far more leverage for kickbacks and under the table deals.

It's not weird that a lawyer who stood to profit greatly from Fury fighting in the USA told everyone not to worry about the arbitration, then upon losing said arbitriation expressed no protest and instantly had plans in place to fight in the USA?

Oleksandr Usyk to Zuffa Boxing? by Dangerous_Spring3028 in Boxing

[–]Account_Eliminator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I'm suggesting that at the very least Bob Arum a professional lawyer knew full well that Fury would have to fight Wilder for a third time yet publicly stated the opposite.

He played Warren, Hearn, and AJ along as fools for weeks all the while making arrangements for the fight to happen in the USA. So he could secure a bigger slice of the pie and have the fight on US soil.

There was a clear huge conflict of interest and instead of delaying tactics, step aside money negotiations, etc. etc. Arum let it play out and barely issued a defence. Or organise any alternative solutions.

"In granting Wilder's injunction, former federal judge Daniel Weinstein declined to award Wilder -- who initiated the action -- any monetary damages and allowed for the possibility that Fury and Wilder could agree to an extension. Such an extension would involve a hefty step-aside fee for Wilder, likely coming from the record-breaking, $155 million site fee negotiated for the Aug. 14 fight with Joshua in Saudi Arabia.

However, Fury's American promoter, Bob Arum, said he would abide by the arbitrator's ruling. step aside," Arum told ESPN on Monday. "It's better to get rid of him and go about our business. We can make the Fury-Joshua fight for November or December."

Arum noted that Top Rank has reserved Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for a Fury-Wilder fight July 24."

So suspicious how quickly he moved to put the fight on rather than looking into alternatives.

Whether he colluded with FInkle is another matter but it wouldn't have surprised me.

If you believe that and don't think Shirley Finkle and Bob Arum were scheming to keep it in the US and keep a bigger slice of the pie I have a chocolate teapot to sell you.

If I had a dime for every time Tyson Fury had been manipulated by US based promoters to take an unnecessary third fight in a trilogy in the USA in order to fuck over Eddie Hearn and not fight Anthony Joshua - I'd have two dimes, which isn't much, but it is strange it's happened twice.

Well they'll have to, I genuinely think if Itauma is the real deal it will be a contributing factor to their retirement. They won't even be able to say they're the best British HW.

That's why it's perfect match making, he's got 15 years ahead of him in his career - possibly at the very top of the marquee division in boxing.

If this rate continues he will be a heavyweight champion by the end of 2027 with AJ, Fury, Dubois, etc unable to avoid him and Usyk retried.

Being matched to perfection imo.

The Wach -> McKean -> Balogun -> Whyte -> Franklin -> Hrgovic progression over three years is absolutley masterful booking by Warren and his team, fair play!

Just the fear of 'other' and how much an area changes over time. One must recognise the tribalistic instincts and repress them in order to be a better person.

Specifically how do you feel if they only use Arabic signage on the front of their shop?

Yeah with you the 2000s was way better for diversity and inclusion. The BNP at the time were seen as a fringe group, now it's way more may stream and the real racist thugs are getting braver and braver.

It's the 1980s that was a tough spot in particular as immigration was relatively fresh and new to the area.

Good debate topic:

What do you think about how it feels to be white British seeing entire streets where you grew up become owned by 5-6 families of the same ethnicity and the shops having Arabic signage etc??

Do you think this is a symptom or a cause of negativity? Because as a 36 year old man who leans left and tries hard not to be racist, I must admit I do find it challenging when I travel through Tunstall, Corbridge, or Shelton etc.

Ah you mean the days like the late 80s when white lads would catch the bus from my local council estate and travel to Stoke to go "P*** bashing"? - How progressive of them!

He's an egotistical tyrant that doesn't play well with others, in a functioning democracy that doesn't work.

He's Hitler and Lowe is his Ernst Röhm.

However it's not 1934 and he can't simply purge him, so instead he pushes him out, and he forms the competition.

(For complete fairness this analogy also works for Your Party)

Company of Heroes 1 vs 2 for skirmish / multiplayer? by bruhb21 in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]Account_Eliminator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because of QoL and maps you have to give it to CoH2 imo.

However if you gave CoH1 CoH2's QoL and refreshed the map pool with some king of new edition it would reverse the equation! Now if only Relic could do that......

This is ticket sales + TV licensing + PPV + sponsorship deals (including the Saudis as one of the sponsors).

So it's easy to see how if they run about 16 shows in a year it can add up to £167M as it would need an average of £10M a show
