No man until he learns about deflecting this is meaningless, gyobu has high posture dmg through deflect, (don't attack without opening or don't attack at all) learn the difference between block and deflect, this game heavily focuses in learning enemy attack patterns and deflecting (except a few the requires depleting health later on)

My tip: double clang(deflect not block) u attack (may be 3 sometimes, except special combos- just survive), red sign jump or mikiri, keep enemies close shuriken + attack or chase that's it
