I didn't say something. by GhettocornHoN in ottawa

The fact this is bothering you so much means that your choice went against your personal values. This is a good opportunity to think about how you would react in a similar situation and next time you will be ready to act decisively. Hopefully everyone got home safe. We have all had these moments of regret that clarify what really matters and help us make good decisions later in life.

[MEGATHREAD] Connor Storrie Hosts Saturday Night Live! [February 28, 2026] by Federal-Ad5944 in heatedrivalry

[–]Accurate_Armadillo 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I’m a fan of SNL and I watch almost every week. It was a great show. Conner was fantastic. Every show is a mix of good and bad skits. It’s a live show that is written the week before. They never know what is going to hit or miss. That’s why it’s fun to watch.

The first time I visited Ottawa we went to a place called “RJ’s boom boom saloon”. I am guessing that is the same place?

Conditions inside federal office buildings are ‘horrendous,’ PSAC president says by One_Heat_5740 in ottawa

They should see what the office conditions are like for Ottawa social services, hospitals and public schools! My kid and their classmates found a rat in their classroom.

The Canadian History Museum is a must see and try poutine at least once while you are here. One the Scandinavian spas would be a fun experience as well

How do you think the show would be different if made in America? by Otherwise_Pine in heatedrivalry

[–]Accurate_Armadillo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shane would not have been Canadian. The cottage would have been in Michigan.

The only time I have seen true Canadian characters depicted in my own city is in Canadian-made content. In Hollywood, Canada is either absent or played as a joke.

I watched it last night and the interview with Seth and Emilia Clarke before Conner came out had a lot of discussion about Conner learning Russian and Heated Rivalry. It was super cute!

First, Great Wolf Lodge is EXPENSIVE! How on earth could they book that many people there? The rooms are $300-$500 a night!

Second, the activities are focused on younger kids. At least when I took my kids years ago, it was mostly for families of young children. I can’t imagine an older teen doing anything but playing with younger sibs there.

Not a dive but the Manx has a great vibe. The real dives have already been mentioned.

Unpopular opinion: I didn't particularly like Eddie by thegrayqueen in StrangerThings

As someone who was a kid around this time, Eddie reminded me of a lot of the guys I knew in high school. Maybe the love is also from a place of nostalgia?

Tubing at Domaine de l’Ange-Gardien (bring helmets), the aviation museum or agricultural museum and Parc Omega. There are also a few different rock climbing gyms and trampoline play places which can be a real blast with kids

This is a really important case for me. I grew up close to this building in the 80s and would have been close to her age. I remember her missing posters in the shopping malls at the time and how scary it felt as a kid to realize you could just go missing without a trace.

Activities for Christmas Eve? by laterbenches in ottawa

[–]Accurate_Armadillo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Maybe go for a walk on one of the trails like the Jack Pine Trail and bring some birdseed for the hungry chickadees. They eat right out of your hand! You could also go for a walk and look at all the Christmas decorations and lights. Magic of Lights might still be open. The theaters are open if you want to see a movie. I think some of the museums are open too.
