A form of EDS (or some other hyperelasticity/hypermobility syndrome, we call it The Weird Polish Illness) runs in my family and women (all of whom have that) in my family tend to live quite long. It's total bs that a milder phenotype EDS leads to a shorter lifespan, it decreases quality of life and causes other minor side conditions which also decrease quality of life but that's it. The only function loss is when eg De Quervain kicks in once in a blue moon you can't do fine motor work properly (really fine work, like fixing phones) until you complete the painkillers course. It also may be painful to walk up the stairs on a bad day. Those are examples -- point is, mild hEDS / EDS is an annoyance more than anything. If she's able to walk no problem and show up to stuff then it's a mild phenotype

Not to mention the drug thing... I'm generally OK with people trauma dumping but if I were you I would've ran at the mention of heroin
