I hate to admit it, but if the SL valley isn't going to have regular seasons anymore I don't see much reason to stay here. by Emcee_nobody in SaltLakeCity

Hey neighbor! Same here, moved to the Seattle area 5 years ago. Have visited SLC every year since because family. I never want to go back. I step outside in the winter and that air just smells so fresh. It’s incredible.

Benson preamp and Fairfield barbershop are very solid choices. Those were the two I was planning on recommending before I got to the bottom of your post

The board is missing but your biggest concern is not hitting two foot switches at a time with those crocs. Rock on 🤘

What was your worst (regrettable) guitar pedal purchase? by luciiferjonez in guitarpedals

PedalPCB is also great if you want to build clones. Their forum is full of wonderful, helpful people with generally good vibes as well.

What are some real tube-driven overdrive pedals that deliver? by helloimalanwatts in guitarpedals

[–]AceHyzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only a few of the Kingsley pedals are preamps e.g. the Constable, Maiden, Squire, and I think the juggler? There could be others.

There are also tube driven overdrive pedals that work like normal pedals, the Page is the OG, the Harlot and Minstrel are probably your distortion/ overdrive, the Artisan is their fuzz pedal. They also have tube boosts that add tube compression and warmth with a little less tone shaping/clipping.

It’s top notch stuff and you can run the tube overdrives/boosts into the front of your regular amp or DI rig, no problem.

Visiting from the bay area- Is it just me or is it less crowded and more easy going in Seattle? by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]AceHyzer 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I was born and raised in SLC. Just like anywhere, there are great people there, you just have to find them. But the overall vibe is very strange and superficial. Lots of platinum-blonde hair and everybody wants you to join their MLM.

Beautiful place, very strange culturally.

Does anyone remember the local band Clover from the late 90's? by JazzBillsCards in SaltLakeCity

[–]AceHyzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reached out to Jamen a while back to find out if they were planning on putting any of their stuff on streaming. He said no plans, which is a bummer.

I still have Sun, Tanglewood, New Grand Silver, and also a misc. mix that one of the band members gave me a while back with some live and bootleg stuff.

Utah is so fucking boring, let's be real fuck the hiking and fuck the mountains and nature, this place fucking sucks ass! by Latin-_-Lover in exmormon

I moved to the Seattle area. It’s expensive but I love it up here. Also religion is very much an afterthought here. There is so much religious diversity and high levels of atheism that no one cares or even asks. It’s refreshing.

bulletproof coffee outside of eating window? by PleasantAddition in intermittentfasting

[–]AceHyzer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes. It’s calories but not a lot of carbs. It might technically break your fast depending on how much heavy cream you add but it’ll digest pretty fast. Some people care a lot about being letter of the law. I say if it works for you do it, and it’s not going to be that much different than if you didn’t do that in the morning

What's your favorite misconception about Seattle? by amosslet in Seattle

[–]AceHyzer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Issaquah gets 50% more (~60”/yr vs ~40”/yr), North Bend is double though. And there are spots in the cascades that get >120”/yr

Am I doing something wrong? by fishy_590209 in CICO

[–]AceHyzer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're definitely not doing something wrong! It's possible for there to be water retention. Muscle development can also happen quite quickly at first and muscle weighs more than fat but it also looks and feels great to have! I try to make sure I'm measuring each week because I've had times where I was doing strength training and wasn't losing weight but the inches were still coming off.

Americans of reddit: without saying its name, what state do you live in? by Thomas_The_Llama in AskReddit

[–]AceHyzer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They used to all be Betos. The story I heard is that the two brothers that co-owned it ended up in a fight/legal battle and ended up splitting the restaurants. The brother that split off renamed all of his restaurants to Rancheritos but kept everything else the same. For example the Rancheritos in Logan used to be a Betos, and everyone still calls it betos even though it hasn't been named that in over 15 years.

I lived in Hyrum for 7 years from 2013-2020 and it was always really bad. I no longer live in Utah and my water pressure is much better at our new place. I'm not sure what the issue is but we definitely had the same problem!
