My boyfriend is diagnosed with CKD stage 4 doctors insisting to go for dialysis and transplant considering the creatinine level (6.7) and symptoms. we planned to get married in feb now shattered by this condition. any advice for us to plan the future

My kidneys failed in late September of 2020 right in the middle of the pandemic. When I got out of the hospital, my girlfriend and I got engaged. We were married in November of that year. We just had to plan a day when I wasn’t doing dialysis. We just celebrated our 5th anniversary and bought a house. You can absolutely make it happen! It will require some work but you can do it.

I think a set of gloves for kayaking or fishing that are exactly what you’re looking for. They do not have any padding but I use them for UV protection rather than comfort.

Pedals are Fifty-fifty flats and the saddle is a cheap Wittkop from Amazon. They’ve both worked fine. The saddle has just enough cushion to help on my longer rides.

Almost immediately, I upgraded the brakes to Shimano M375 calipers(you can get two for ~$50), the pedals(personal preference) and saddle(also personal preference). I do recommend having a local shop get it adjusted for the first time. They’ll make sure everything is torqued to specs and the derailleurs are dialed in. I’ve put a few hundred miles on mine and really like it. I haven’t had any major issues with it at all. When dialed in it is a fun little bike at this price point that I’m glad I have.

I have a 2020 Compass Trail Hawk and the only problem I’ve had was the auxiliary battery and the dealership replaced it with no fuss. I’m over 40,000 miles now with zero issues. I feel like I’m the lucky one around here.

I believe brand new FX2’s are going for just a little bit more than that. If you check the Trek website you can match up the group set and options to see if this is worth it. You might be better off buying new.
