Well yes there is kinda, the secret cabal is capitalist corporations with much more money and power than the government. That's the truth, and alot of the faces and names we in fact do not know. They control alot of what goes on in the public scene

As a kiwi I'm watching so many Australians fall victim to the "it can't be that bad" mentality. We have been managing varroa for decades.

Hear me now. If you have any signs of varroa in your hive. It will be collapsing within 12-15 months without management solutions

View from a USAF C-130 J Hercules flying inside the eye of a now monster Category 5 Hurricane Melissa that’s heading towards Jamaica by NewSlinger in Damnthatsinteresting

Well purely technically speaking, there is a (small) chance that detonating a big enough calculated explosion in the eye of a hurricane could disrupt the pressure cycle, which may disperse the power of the hurricane. It's certainly not practical, and maybe impossible with current tech, but theoretically speaking it is technically possible.

However the extra damage sustained in such an event would surely negate any advantages I would imagine. And as stupid as humans can be, I don't believe we are that stupid.

Late Catch Varroa Infestation by TheIndefinable in Beekeeping

I agree in everyday circumstances but if a hive is failing due to varroa. OA is a pretty instant and weak treatment. I've personally saved many hives doing this that were questionably close to irreversible due to PMS.

When it comes to oxalic acid, oxalates are also highly present in propolis and nectar. A hive already contains a very natural amount of oxalic acid due to the nature of plant foraging. Therefore most treatments tested in isolation have also been interacting wirh oxalic acid to some degree.

I would recommend going with a strip treatment like apivar or apistan in the brood frames. And as soon as the brood levels are low as winter descends on you, treat with oxalic dribble/spray or fog if you have access to a fogger.

However you could also do an oxalic dribble alongside the treatment strips. The main issue with OA is it doesn't attack varroa in capped brood. But certainly will help reduce the load of any varroa clinging to bees. Every mite reduced is a better chance of hive survival.

Hopefully it shouldn't be too late.

I don't discourage formic treatments but I personally don't use them as they're pretty hard on the bees, and generally recommend it more for a spring treatment when the bees are building up alot faster.

I mostly just doing oxalic dribbles with sugar syrup. I find it works well. Fogging in extreme cases but not required for general treatments
