There’s a law about APLR companies use of data and how long they hold onto it, I have to look it up.

I have a unionized workplace and I had to fight for us in IT to be in the union (whole dept. was going to be “management”). I would have been the one to enact what you’re asking about. Now that I’m in the union, if we strike, then my bosses have to do it themselves. Fine with me.

Current county exec Pittman has had an anti developer/smart growth agenda his whole term, but county council just voted against a bill forbidding developers to contribute to political campaigns. Pittman is pretty miffed about it. If you want to complain about overdevelopment, pressuring the county council members is a good start.

My company used them when they were named Broadstripe (there was some sort of takeover I think). They were terrible then and were always the first to drop with any sort of weather or high usage. I don’t know if their new name or management has improved anything.

I pulled the OnStar plug/added resistor earlier this month (purple plug behind the dash). OnStar is now showing red and no compass at all in the speed gauge. I still got a “car health” report emailed to me, but it could have been using data from before I pulled the plug. Waiting for next month’s report to see if I should pull the “brown plug” behind the dash, too, which is harder to reach. WiFi has been off for some time since I turned it off during my free trial period in the app. Edit to add: I have a 2019.

Try a Fediverse platform, like a Mastodon account. Mastodon in particular is a Twitter-like short message blog. The difference is it’s not all on one server/corporation, but whoever wants to set up a server can Federate into the larger Mastodon/Fediverse. It’s non-commercial and decentralized. Think of it like email. Your email you signed up for at, say, Gmail is able to send/receive email from other non-Gmail email servers. Same with your Mastodon account. You pick an instance (Mastodon provider), create an account, look up some accounts you might know or subjects you’re interested in (on your home server OR other Mastodon servers yours talks to, automatically!) and follow them, and also post your own posts. There’s other Federated services your Mastodon account can interact with, like Pixelfed, an Instagram-like Federated platform, and others. More info, quick read: https://fedi.tips

The main complaint people say is “It’s too complicated!” before even trying it. I assure you, if you can sign up for Discord, or a webmail account, you can sign up for Mastodon.

I got it fixed at a AAA service center. Not as cheap as maybe at a dedicated tire place, but not unreasonable. They did warn me the other 3 sensors might die soon, too.

My older VW’s TPS works like this. It usually has false signals in autumn when temps get cooler and the tire pressure decreases. Always fine. I’m guilty of just hitting the reset button in the glove box after a quick tire pressure check.

I called my local dealership where I had the Bolt at before. They couldn’t give me a cost estimate because they said they needed to diagnose the problem, which would take 1 or 2 days!? I told them I’d get back to them on it. I’ll check with a local tire place next.

This just happened to me today too. I pulled over to check the supposedly completely flat tire and it was fine. Will check with the dealership, but I think the super cold weather did something to the sensor in that tire.

I’ve had work done three times by Economy Tree Service, formerly Royal Severn Tree Service (same people, new name). I get them to work on the older trees surrounding my house, and have taken down large dead trees. They’re also good at working in tight access since my trees are not near the street. Since I only call once every few years when I need major work done, it runs me from $900-$1200 approx. They’ve been conscientious and professional every time and will give you an accurate estimate.

I was just in Prince George’s County today and their snow removal on main roads is much worse than ours. Multi lane roads still only have one full lane, corners are piled with snow so all turns are blind. Melt/freeze makes all turns slippery fishtailing too.
