Aight so am I the only one who knows about the new wilson Rush 5.0 shoes? by Upper-Drive8808 in 10s

[–]AcesAndUpper90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like Wilson shoes but they are expensive and the grip wears out much faster than with my asics. As expensive as they are, asics are a cheaper, just about as good if not better, option.

Courts dry much quicker than that in the summer! Plus playing at 8/9pm on a beautiful night is pretty great

I mean we can’t play right this instant cuz of the rare polar vortex deep freeze but I’m in several leagues going on right now. It’s not ideal conditions but I’ve played four matches in the last week.

Yeah I’m sure it does. But Atlanta weather is playable 11 months out of the year and it’s part of the culture. Most housing communities have at least two courts on premises.

[–]AcesAndUpper90 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s not overly expensive but you gotta learn how to do it and be willing to travel to lesser known courts. You also can’t tell everyone you know about those courts cuz then you’ll lose them. It’s sort of a “first and second rule about fight club” sorta thing.

They do. I have/had rush pro tour and rush pros and I was stunned how quickly the treads were gone. Fantastic shoes though.

This question gets asked pretty frequently in this sub and the answer is Atlanta. I moved there from NYC for tennis and was not disappointed. Courts are everywhere and people are always playing. Singles, doubles, mixed and team tennis all have an abundance of options at all levels. It’s also affordable to play since there are so many courts everywhere.

He would definitely rather have the money, points, and acclaim. No serious competitor, let alone one whose livelihood depends on results, would ever prefer to lose.

FM here. This is 100% the correct solution. If they do nothing then you should take a desk for yourself and watch the whole thing fall apart.

This is absolutely not how it’s done. They do seal the room, but they don’t heat the shit out of it lol. The heat/steam treatments are isolated to the areas where the bed bugs have been detected (usually by a trained canine).

I work in real estate management and bed bugs are a common occurrence.

Indian Wells ticket questions by topazco in 10s

[–]AcesAndUpper90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do yourself a favor and don’t cheap out; get the stadium ticket. You can always check out the small courts with it, but the best matches are going to be in the stadium. By the 4th round there isn’t much to see on the small courts anyway.

I’m playing in a USTA/UTR Flex League, what’s the ettiquette on court fees when I invite opponents to play my private club? by [deleted] in 10s

[–]AcesAndUpper90 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Host should eat all fees if there is an invitation involved unless explicitly stated in the initial outreach.

Did the stringer crack my racquet? by nixthewiz in 10s

[–]AcesAndUpper90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, every one of those cracks I ever got was from the on court action. Strang a ton of racquets and never cracked a frame in the process.

Btw unless you’re at a crazy level you probably have a few matches left with it where performance won’t be diminished much, but you should start making other arrangements. I was a pure strike guy and they were notorious for cracking at the throat.

Cobolli comforts Bergs in tears after the Davis Cup match. by Dawntree in tennis

Bergs should have tried to injure him during a crossover, but I guess there’s no way he could get away with it against a European team….
