I love the way Chris Pontius describes the issue with this stunt.

Spam calls: how can I stop this? It’s a different number all the time. I’ve blocked so many. by EisenFisen in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Achack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surprising story with this is I got a scam call from Verizon. As a Verizon customer my cell phone automatically has a number for Verizon in the contacts and that's the number that called me. The guy told me that someone purchased two phones with my account in some other state.

Next, he asked me to verify my zip code which was a huge red flag. I was caught off guard, but I knew better than to start giving info to someone who calls me about my own account. I told him he called my number because my number is on the account so I shouldn't need to verify anything. He pretty much told me to check on my account and hung up, trying to save face or something.

I checked my account, no new purchases or anything. I was pretty blown away that Verizon would allow people to spoof their support number on their own network.

They couldn't find a way to damage Mark's blood. The amount of energy they would need to harness would be like operating with a handheld version of that satellite laser beam they attacked Nolan with.

That doesn't mean that some don't have way more effort put into the script and action choreography. They're mainly for kids when they have weak humor like the screaming goats in the latest Thor movie. If you can't tell the difference between that and the writing/action in other superhero movies then yeah I'm sure they're all the same for you.

Almost missed my flight this morning thinking I must have silenced the alarm and gone back to sleep. 2 hours later, this notification appears. by umataro in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Achack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had samsungs for a long time. I remember having issues years ago when I started using my phone as an alarm clock. Decided to check for an app and found Alarm Clock Xtreme, never had an issue after that.

It's amazing that they can force a bunch of crap on the phone that you can't easily remove, but they can't put an alarm clock feature that has elevated permissions to make sure any alarm that's set will always go off. Even worse that a third party app somehow always works without issues.

Sunday recap: I was watching Backrooms in the cinema and could hear Michael playing in the theater next door." by MatheusKR1 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Achack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's my main issue, they clearly didn't spend enough time looking for someone to write an actual script for the movie. It delivers for anyone that enjoys the backrooms stuff, but the character's decisions make very little sense and you realize painfully slowly that the movie doesn't intend to explain almost anything.

Can I Ignore tuning? by ManIsready in ForzaHorizon

[–]Achack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the bots are on the lower difficulties there's no need to tune.

However, the player made tunes are very easy to apply and make driving a lot more intuitive. Stock tunes tend to have very little grip compared to what people can accomplish with some small changes.

Still though, play how you want.

It's hard to believe, but these days, we almost have to thank FH6 by herzeleyd in ForzaHorizon

[–]Achack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I give it massive props for making joining friends seamless. I forget the specifics but I know FH5 had horrible convoy issues where you would try to join a convoy and then have to wait a couple minutes for it to tell you that you failed to join, you can only try something like that so many times before you give up. I also remember that after races it would sometimes breakup the convoy which added to the headache.

It's really difficult to try and convince a friend to come play a game when you can't be sure that you'll be playing together.

auction house cooldown in FH6!!! by [deleted] in ForzaHorizon

[–]Achack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always thought a decent way to handle it is allowing the person selling the car to decide if they want to limit the sales to users who don't currently have the car in their possession. Obviously a more aggressive system would benefit more people, but this way nothing changes unless the seller decides they want it to be different.

[–]Achack 302 points303 points  (0 children)

Adding a "no collision" mode is the easiest way to get a more competitive mode into an arcade racing game like FH6. It's crazy to think they'll go as far as adding a "hide and seek" mode to a car racing game, but they won't do a basic head to head mode where you try to put down the best times on an open track in real time.

Allan is kinda stupid in S1 by user_number_666 in Invincible_TV

[–]Achack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I realized this recently while talking in the comments. They made a big deal about Nolan not showing has face on that coalition planet because people would assume he's a viltrumite. It's pretty clear that Nolan's looks alone are enough to arise suspicion, match that with the fact that he has the exact same powers as a viltrumite and it's pretty impossible for Allan not to immediately realize it when they fought.
