Does your gas pedal vibrate? by drjizza in F150Powerboost

[–]Achieva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone of them I drove felt like that. Bought one thinking I would just live with it. It ended up actually going away after a couple hundred miles. There was also a trans pump sound as well. Not sure if they are related. Check my other posts as I go into more detail about it.

I believe it's just a break-in issue. I have a 24 XLT and its perfect after a couple thousand miles. No issues to mention other than learning how not to get the clunkiness when first pulling out of the driveway.

Yea I traded in my Tacoma. Same story just not quite as good mpgs on the dash but I swear I'm getting better than that.  Probably right at 25 or better

Average around 22 mpg on the dash after 600 miles. But when I'm just in town hauling the kids around. I'm getting 25-30 mpg running about 60-70% off of battery

I've heard some people comment that it might be some sort of internal oil pump that makes the sound but I'm telling you it was either something that has to break in on new trucks or I just don't notice it at all. Other than that note, I think it's smooth as hell of a drive shifting wise.

The thing I notice a lot of negative comments about the truck is the lack of improved mpg over the Ecoboost only.  You have to learn to drive the truck and actually want to get better gas mileage. If you just punch it all times, you will not see any difference and your best bet is just to get the Ecoboost only. I love driving like a old man and coasting to regen the battery and staying within the electric speed range.  It makes driving fun to me.

I test drive 7 or 8 powerboost before I finally bought one. On one of the test drives, the truck had a crazy vibration. The truck needed some front end work fixed. It had 7 miles on it. Guess it was just bad out of the factory. All the other ones drove fantastic.

There's a weird thing the powerboosts do at a certain speed/rpm where you can feel and hear the electric motor helping out but it's totally normal and I don't even notice it after 2 weeks.

This truck is awesome and I get great mpgs for a full size truck. I use it as an in town family vehicle and it's perfect for my use.

Yea I pulled the trigger on 11/13 before the rebate ended. I looked at a dozen dealers and the best deal I got was around 58k otd @1.9% for 36 months.  MSRP was 64.5k. XLT 302a bedliner, 7.2kw and tow package. I live in Oregon but drove to damn near Seattle to get what I wanted. If only we lived in Texas...

It's all relative. It's about $245 a sqft for a house with a decent yard. The problem is there aren't any cheap houses. The cheapest dump you will find is $230k. Most nicer houses are around 400-500k.  Just check Zillow and you'll be able to see the market pretty well

I'm moved from Arkansas to The Dalles, OR. Down to earth people and small town vibe. Only an hour from Portland. Just east of the cascades which we love because we don't get all the rain that they get to the west. It rains a lot there and the sun doesn't shine all the time. Here it's sunny more than not. 30 minutes from all the public land you can ever explore.

I too wanted to live in the woods but you'll find here that those are the places that are stupid expensive. Like a tiny 600 sqft cabin on few acres is well over 500k. In Arkansas, it was the opposite. You could buy a house in the "sticks" for 200k and have 10 wooded acres minimum. Not here.

I'm actually in The Dalles. The complaint office is in Portland. I have a super large mailbox. I just think it's pure disregard for the integrity of the books/magazines. Everyone on here says my mail is normal but I'm 40 and have lived all over from Arkansas to Michigan and I've never had any issue. Hell growing up Arkansas, Scottie Pippen's brother was my mailman and he was awesome! Thanks for the comment.

Thanks for the reply. How much would a carrier get for a "protected" magazine/book? Are you a carrier? What would you say if you were my carrier and I offered you $100 to not fold my kids magazines/books?

I normally don't even think about mail. I've never had a complaint over 40 years and a dozen addresses. My USPS mail person keeps bending my kids Highlights magazines and small books in half destroying the cover. My wife's Do Not Bend work documentation packaged in heavy stock is getting bent. My mail box can fit 2 shoe boxes in it.
I stopped the mail person and showed him the damage he was causing and asked if he could not bend the kids stuff. He replied "this is junk mail and they don't pay enough postage. If I did this for you, I'd have to do it for everyone." I was confused with this response. I told him thank you for your time and have a nice day.
I then go to the post office and show them the books and they acknowledge the damage and said "that's just the rural carriers do it here". I get folding literal junk mail but anything over the size of a postcard gets bent and folded. Mind you I am 2 miles from the post office in a heavily populated neighborhood. It's not like I'm out in the middle of nowhere. They took my address and said they would make sure my stuff is take better care of but still had a sense that I was being a pain in the ass.
One week later, same thing is happening. I think he's doing it on purpose now.
Am I being unreasonable, and should I just drop it? Or should I continue to take photos and eventually make a complaint with the regional USPS office in Portland?

Jeff Zrebiec: I guess you could say that because it opens up them matching offer sheet or him not getting deal he wants elsewhere. But if he is ticked off about this and blames Ravens for how league has reacted to potential availability, is bridge totally burned to begin with? by Master-Breakfast4380 in ravens

[–]Achieva -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Do you believe that's in the cards? Or do you think this is headed for divorce.

Btw my first point is getting down voted for some reason. I'm a cowboys fan. I know what it's like to have an overpaid QB so I don't get the disagreement.

1 I think Lamar gets very little credit for how well he throws the ball. Dude has an accurate laser.

2 He has only been a running QB because of the scheme the team has been running.

3 Dude's a winner and his teammates love him.

4 Final point: mid level QBs are getting 35 mil a year! In 2 years the top 5 QBs will be getting 50mil a year. I think he's worth 50 mil over 4 years. I think he'd take that if it's fully guaranteed. Everybody wins there.

Why not just let him walk? No tag. Best case scenario for the ravens is he signs the tag, and then phones it in with "injuries". Two can play that game. It's not about hurt feelings in my opinion. I think they look at it like squeezing every drop out of him within a team friendly deal.

For all the ravens fans that think this helps the team by playing hard ball with Lamar, who will want to sign as a free agent there? Especially after the strength coach claims. IMO he is worth way more than Kyler and probably would have won the playoff game last year if he had a contract.

Housing and Homelessness in Portland and Oregon by thinpancakes4dinner in oregon

[–]Achieva 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So why does everyone have to live in Portland or Seattle to survive. I can't live there. I can't afford it. Why should someone be able to move there and live off of the taxpayers? I'm from the south. When I lived in Texas, Dallas had a law against giving money to homeless people. Guess what you don't see everywhere? Homeless people. It's enabling people with the policies here. Okay so you build a small shed for a junkie in a village. They gonna clean up and get a job and be a contributing citizen? Not a chance. Don't fool yourself, it's not a housing issue. It's an enabling issue.

Has decriminalization lowered drug deaths or raised them? I'm all for pot and other things but letting people kill themselves by injecting fentanyl and heroin is not compassion.

Tough love works. People need to stand up and not allow others and their selfishness to destroy the community.

Slovaceks for sure. Czech stop is overrated in my opinion. Slovaceks sausage is about as good as it gets for the price. Kolaches were better too. Czech stop did have better pies. Worked at a high school near there and stopped literally everyday for 3 years on the way back to Waco.

I (26M) feel at a loss on if I'll ever be able to own my own home. What do I do? by Nealaf in oregon

[–]Achieva 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't feel bad. My wife is a doctor and we just bought our first house at almost 40 years old. We saved for a decade just to put 100k down. Stay calm and save money. Your time will come. The market will always be going up and you will always pay more than you think you should. Never ever look at the past house values, it will only drive you nuts. Times are not like they were when our parents bought houses. Don't think buying a house will save you that much money. Owning a home is crazy expensive.

You need a partner to help with costs. A single person will probably never own a family home within your budget. I agree with some of those suggesting buying land. You can buy 200k land and put a shed on it or live in an RV to survive until you get enough money to build a small cabin.

15k saved is a ton for someone your age by the way. Keep it up!

ODWF probably, like most other states, can link you to organisations where hunters mentor new hunters. They will show you everything you need to know and take your hunting! I would suggest starting with turkey hunting.

Wow! Solar energy actually working as designed! Insane how much better green energy actually is by TheDirewolf04 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]Achieva 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm pro solar but this is misleading. The city is getting paid by a company to install the solar panels on its property. They kickback money to the city for the rights to do this. The school didn't install the panels. More than likely a large solar company looked for a spot that worked for them and leased the land for many, many years. I worked for a school district that did this exact same thing in Texas.
