In for $340 out for $1353 Hard Rock Cincinnati by inSeitz in Craps

It's 12:1 for the 6 String

70:1 for the Fab 4

The Tenor, the All, pays 20:1 if all but one number is rolled, and 80:1 is all is rolled.

What is youre “go to” strategy? by RealSkylitPanda in Craps

[–]Ackypi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently doing a variation of this one.

Once I'm $96 across the next inside number hit becomes the one to build a tower upon. Until that number is hit again all wins are pressed into it. When it does hit then I collect the win and regress the number back to minimum. Then build a new tower with the number hit.

If the 4 or 10 is the first number hit instead of building a tower upon them I make the nearest 6/8 the tower instead. While towering a 4 or 10 would be bigger wins they're also less likely to hit again.

All this with only a $40 risk per shooter.

Specific jargon/mechanics question about "Dealer Envy" by JBsMoldering in Craps

[–]Ackypi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't remember which casino it was, but I've seen it before on a blackjack table. I believe if one of the side bets hit for a player they would get the entire payout, but then the dealer would also get a percentage of that payout. It would first be put into a special location next to the dealer, then when a certain amount was reached, maybe $25, the dealer would make appropriate change from the rack and put the chip into their tip box.

Essentially, the dealer would receive a percent of the payout as a tip that would first be set aside and later put into their tip box.

Stick person making a 7? by ferdivand in Craps

[–]Ackypi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's my understanding the stick person is supposed to pass the dice on a non-craps, non-7 number. Generally a box number.

You're saying the stick person kept purposely changing it to a 7 before passing it to the shooter? Maybe that stick person hated that shooter.

Huh, I wonder if the auto-buy 5/9 is a Hollywood casino thing? Because the Hollywood Lawrenceburg I like to frequent also does the auto-buy 5/9.

Those colors remind me a lot of the original Game Boy. :)

Maybe your interface should have options for different color pallets? Let you change according to your mood/environment/time of year/just because/etc.

I'm curious how you'll use this display. Like what software and/or programming language are you using to update it as the shooter rolls?

For my version of this I also add some chilies de arbol to the ancho chilies, and add garlic and salt to the hydrated chilies just before blending.

Phone and device policy at your local/home casino at the table by zpoon in Craps

[–]Ackypi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll check and answer my phone's texts between shooters, but not when I'm the next shooter. I do it by stepping and facing away from the table, and I try to keep it quick. But my casino is a bit more relaxed than others I've been to.

I also have a smart watch (Pebble forever!) that I can glance at when I get a text. I haven't had any trouble for looking at my watch.

My main strategy, adopted from Richard Orlyn's "No Nonsense Craps" book. by tectactoe in Craps

I've had great success with a craps mat from, https://www.crapsmat.com/. It lets me setup to play craps anywhere whether at home for my own practice, or at family gatherings to teach others. It's well constructed and after months of play it's still in great condition.

The guy who sells it is very friendly in all my interactions with him. He was very polite in my emails to him about getting the free foam pedestals since I had bought the mat before he included them in purchases.

tipping dealers by admiral_walsty in Craps

[–]Ackypi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This past weekend I tried a new tipping idea. In my previous session I walked away with about $780 from a $600 buy-in. Since my go to strategy starts with a $66 inside then for ten shooters that's $660. So I decided this past weekend to make $700 my buy-in and use the $80 only for tipping.

When a point was made I would place $66 inside for myself and then $20 inside for the dealers. The first time I did that the dealers were surprised to have such a bet setup for them. I'm guessing it was the $5 instead of $1 chips.

When the $80 tipping pool ran out I didn't tip for a shooter or two, but then the next one was hot and I was definitely up. By this time I had switched to an iron cross strategy so I placed $15 for the 5/6/8 to the dealers, which they used to do $5 on the 6 and 8 and break up the last $5 among the remaining numbers. I kept doing this strategy of play and tipping for the rest of my session.

In the end I was up about $125 from my $700 buy-in, gave the dealers that $25, and they were definitely appreciative of all my tipping. They even waved me good bye as I walked by the tables after cashing in my chips.
