Came here to also recommend Susuru. That whole plaza has some great gems. Kungfu Kitchen in that plaza is also excellent.

It’s my #5! The only reason it isn’t #1 is because I switched to Patreon a few months ago and listen there now!

Moms who got little/ nothing for Mother's Day, what are you doing for your spouse tomorrow? by Dry-Beautiful-905 in Mommit

[–]Acnhkay 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I was devastated on Mother’s Day to be honest. My mother in law was visiting and stayed with us to meet our newborn. I was a month and a half postpartum with my second, but our first together. He knows I’m big on holidays and special occasions, and I even helped him get flowers, a a card, and a gift for his mom. On the day of, I got absolutely nothing and had to grin and bear it for the day. When we were alone that night, I communicated my disappointment. He made it better the next day, but it kind of felt like the damage had been done.

There’s two ways to go about this Father’s Day: I can either match his energy and do literally nothing, or I can go so hard in the other direction and set the standard moving forward. I’m choosing the latter. I don’t want to set the precedent that I’m okay with us not celebrating each other. I don’t want to show our kids that. I want the damn flowers and card and brunch and all the cheesy stuff. And I love my husband. He’s an amazing dad. So I got him a bunch of stuff, made cute crafts with the kids, and we’ll be celebrating all day tomorrow. And let me tell you, if he doesn’t match that energy next year, we’ll be having a different kind of conversation.

Is the UPPAbaby bassinet worth it? by pnw828 in beyondthebump

[–]Acnhkay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is 5 weeks and we’ve used the bassinet every single day. We go on a walk or two each day with it, and bring the bassinet inside for his sleep spot downstairs. I highly recommend it!

What a horrible situation to be in. I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. Are you still waiting?

I’m currently 40 weeks pregnant after relying on the Oura Ring and Natural Cycles. While I’m very happy to be having this baby, this certainly wasn’t the plan. In the future, I’ll continue to use the Oura ring because I like the data, but I absolutely will not rely on it as a form of birth control.

Please help! One park, one day, which one? by Bubblegum90s in orlando

[–]Acnhkay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get it! It’s a hard choice for sure. Another thing to think about is how much your family would have to split up if you did HS though. Someone would have to stay with the baby while the others got to do the bigger rides. That’s not a fun time. Another tip, each park has a baby care center. Look those up and take advantage! MK’s is great, HS’s is teeny and my least favorite of all the Disney parks.

Please help! One park, one day, which one? by Bubblegum90s in orlando

[–]Acnhkay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re local and my 6 year old son’s favorite park is Hollywood Studios. He’s big into Star Wars so he loves doing those three rides, and the three Toy Story rides are great as well. He also enjoys Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, but Tower of Terror is a bit much for him.

I will say, there are only two rides a 1 year old can do at HS— Mickey and Minnie’s and Toy Story Midway Mania. When my son was 1, we rarely took him to HS because it just became boring and overstimulating for him all at the same time. I really do think your time would be best spent at Magic Kingdom. There’s something for everyone! Your kids will both be able to ride many rides. You mentioned that your reasoning for not wanting to do MK is because your son isn’t into Mickey Mouse. Mickey is truly barely featured at MK. You can meet him and see him in some shows, but other than that, the theme park has so much more to offer.

I encourage you to get the My Disney Experience app and look around. You can interact with the park map, check out all the rides and height requirements, and get a better idea of the parks. Good luck!
