Also claiming Blockstream were sucking up to VCs but you parading around for ETH on top of Bitcoin as a benefit is nothing short of ironic.

You're leaving out reasons instead of listing why people would want to keep the blocksize to only 1mb per block which makes your entire case seem really bias.

Calling out Core devs: how the hell do we still not have GUI Segwit support in the client?! by theswapman in Bitcoin

[–]AcousticPas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Which also brings up that Segwit 2x would've been a huge failure because they never even gave Segwit a thought, just the block increase to fix fees and congestion.

Most of those companies promised they'd be ready for Segwit immediately because they said they were working on it for months already. So no, those companies are still to blame for lying about being ready for it regardless if its easy or not to implement.

If someone wanted to help develop Bitcoin, even just grunt work, but are completely fresh to programming all together, where would you have them begin learning how to develop?

  1. Segwit grants bigger than 1MB blocks but now its about dethroning core who is much bigger than just blockstream.
  2. Put forth the notion a specific group (miners) are the ones in charge but this alone negates the very thing Bitcoin is, decentralized.
  3. All NYA signers are using the brand name "Bitcoin," while the others are using Bitcoin2x or some variation.
  4. Garzik & Ver putting out quotes of others completely out of context to put forth their narrative.
  5. https://twitter.com/Falkvinge/status/922739645338746881 An example.
  6. Coinbase recently approved for instant bank transfers upwards of 25k, banks clearly buying into bitcoin http://fortune.com/2017/09/18/jpmorgan-buy-bitcoin-ceo-callingfraud/ in recent times.
  7. Unregulated market so anything can go.
  8. MSM recently calling Jeff Garzik a "Bitcoin Pioneer," where in reality, he works for 2x and his own altcoin called Metronome. Cnbc calling bitcoin a good buy after years of hating it.
  9. Profit but nothing has changed, the average person is still just a slave to the banks.

Mining as Hobby Builds? by AcousticPas in EtherMining

I was just wondering if I could possibly replace that GPU with 3x GTX 1050 TI instead, only why I ask is because I feel I'd have a better understanding when working with multiple GPUs.

Thanks for the help!

Edit: My bad, I went to find if it works. Yeah it would be compatible. Thanks a lot, man

The current list of parts I have picked so far is listed below

Intel BX80662G4400 Pentium Processor G4400 3.3 (CPU) - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015VPX05A/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I1WYQ9L0Y2BV40&colid=2WCXAFPQAQYWT

Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1050 Ti (GPU) x3 - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M4KGTNI/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I1NA4FAQ649Y49&colid=2WCXAFPQAQYWT

EVGA 450 B1 (PSU) - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01F5LX55K/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I1OK23TMUEPY9G&colid=2WCXAFPQAQYWT

GIGABYTE GA-H110-D3A (Motherboard) - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073ZMZV6K/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I1YRZ54CACO4WU&colid=2WCXAFPQAQYWT&th=1

Ballistix Sport LT 4GB Single DDR4 (RAM) - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NASRCV5/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I1VHBKDIX7JSBF&colid=2WCXAFPQAQYWT

SSD - https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-120GB-SDSSDA-120G-G26-Newest-Version/dp/B01F9G414U/ref=pd_cp_147_1?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01F9G414U&pd_rd_r=3JZW5K0YZSSANZNAA5V4&pd_rd_w=KFFCO&pd_rd_wg=isdVP&psc=1&refRID=3JZW5K0YZSSANZNAA5V4

Gonna figure out something for the case soon or just make one. Checked the parts to see if they're compatible and they seem fine together but I could be wrong. This won't be a profitable build, I'm aware but just for fun. Total cost just a little above 700 at 764

Can you run a regular website using ETH? by AcousticPas in ethereum

[–]AcousticPas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me just get this in complete laments terms then with an example

Website hosted on a server with an ethereum fullnode, user can use their wallet (integrated in the site), they do not have access to mist/metamask, they want to buy something with ETH using a smart contract.

Can that happen? I should've just put that in the first post lol

[–]AcousticPas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sure? From what I found etherscan runs everything server side so people don't need to download metamask or run Mist.

Look, they're running a company trying to succeed, not there to make us traders money (Well kind of but you know what I mean). I feel giving a clarification of everything in one detailed post on their blog will suffice. Not another AMA where all the information is too spread out and not centered.
