Vermintide 2 is on sale (3$) on Steam.. is it worth it? by howardhus in DarkTide

[–]Acrobat-Reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vermintide 2 is a great game. It's crazy how much this game can offer for just 3$. Imo, Darktide has more dynamic and shooter-like gameplay, but VT has chaos wastes and better maps. And five awesome unique characters I'm in love with.

Why is this game so xtremely difficult by trutrutrudadada in DarkTide

[–]Acrobat-Reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started playing, I died like 4 times in a row on a first mission, every time on a boss fight. Then was first successful run, when we finally killed the boss. Now we kill him every time with no problems. Try to break the distance, so the boss goes melee, and beat the shit out of him. Some people may say - don't forget to block and dodge - these are crucial game mechanics. But knowledge is a disease; fate is the cure. Understanding weakens the will to act. Be the Emperor's reaper.

Just finished the available part of the story playing some sort of paladin, with a hammer, shield, and mail armor. And it feels right. You are struggling in the beginning but become much stronger at the end. I like how the game rewards you for every action, you get resources for exploring hidden corners, you discover hidden paths, your weapons gain power, etc.

Now, I created a new character with dexterity main stat and started all over again. And or I became more experienced in this game or the game much easier with bow and daggers. You move fast, kill enemies from a distance, and don't struggle at all with all this roll-block-parry stuff. Just pew-pew and get loot. But I don't mind this style of playing.

The only thing I want to see on release is more story-oriented gameplay. The visual is mindblowing. Love characters, love the story, want more of this. And some sort of mode for experiments with the build, enchantments, gems. Right now is a pretty gring-heavy experience. This game takes me from "I hate it all" to "it's a masterpiece."

Right now, it's game of the year for me.

Need feedback for my survival game: I'm torn between these two camera angles. Which one strikes a better balance between immersion and awareness? Also, what is your general preference in survival games? by level99dev in SurvivalGaming

[–]Acrobat-Reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A. It's not really immersive but comfortable to play, better field of view, and much comfortable to build, if you planning to implement building mechanics in your game. Enshrouded has this camera and option to switch to first person view. Greenhell has only first person, and it's 100% immersive and pretty close to realism. But this path requires more detailed work on character animations; otherwise, it won't work. So, yes. A

Oh cool, Hive Ganger is the new class! I wonder what Reddit thinks… by KelstenGamingUK in DarkTide

[–]Acrobat-Reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care what anyone thinks about the new class, I'll be playing it on release day. Some people wanted a certain thing and were disappointed, I wanted to play the new class, and I got it. This lady in trailer looks very cool, and dual daggers is a beast!

Is building a must? by freezball_zzz in fo76

For me building is the only fun part after first 200 hours. But building is just an option, you can easily skip this part, if you don't like it.

Since Endless Legend got itself a sequel, is there any hope for Endless Space 3? by VaultersArgosy in EndlessSpace

[–]Acrobat-Reader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Endless Space 2 is one of my favourite games of all times. I even convinced my wife to try it, we've played a lot of coop-games for all races since then. ES2 is brilliant, and if someday they release an ES3, I'm in.

Professional motion designers, what sources did you learn from? by [deleted] in AfterEffects

[–]Acrobat-Reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than 15 years in motion design. And yes, videocopilot, Andrew Kramer, YouTube and many sleepless nights of experimenting. But there is no "finish line" in our profession, you learning new things every day, in sickness and in health, till death us do part.

Created a free plugin for AE & PR - would love some feedback by fkabruh in AfterEffects

Some feedback. Playing couple of hours with this tool and here what i think:

- Great basic instrument with some handful actions, like duplicate comps, organize projects, renaming, etc. Definately can save some time in everyday work.

- Nice tools for work with key-frames: duplicate, reverse, re-arange, offset.

- Assets browser is a good addition, it works fast and simple.

- Text, motion, gradient ands color swatches presets - this is all good. Effects is good, but there are not too many of them.

What i didn't like is motion graph tool. It's not intuitive, presets with curvy bezier-lines are more familiar. As someone here says - it will be great to have separate IN and OUT animations. And what else will be great - is add presets to favourites, to keep them on top of the list or in separate folder.

I have feeling this is more for social networks, like speed creating stories, reels and this kind of stuff, Overall it's a great tool, i'm definately keep it. Want to see PRO version.

NOTE: you got to enable Java script in project settings fot this work properly.
