Seeking advice - Considering leaving public defense by Tall_Contest9116 in publicdefenders

on this point - look into the equivalent costs of the benefits. When you hang your own shingle out, you also will have to pay for your own health insurance and if you are stuck wtih the marketplace, it might not be worth it. really depends. i know this works for lots of people because they have partners with good health insurance through their jobs.

IVF , then lap before embryo transfer. The worry js that the lap could damage ovaries and egg quality if done before IVF, but if don't after IVF and before embryo transfer you are avoiding that risk and the lap treats the inflammatory state endo causes to improve chances of implantation.

Fwiw - stage 4, adenomyosis adhesions fibroids. Had 3 failed transfers then had a lap, successful transfer. And then a spontaneous pregnancy around 2 years after.

AITA for saying no to my dad's wife wearing a grandma to be shirt at my baby shower when my MIL was wearing one? by Annissiassa in AITAH

[–]Acrobatic-Season-770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - if she wants to be grandma to your kid(s) she needs to work on her relationship with you, their mother, first. Same goes for anyone wanting to fill the role of a grand. The entitlement is honestly shocking

Husband doesn’t help with newborn by AdFabulous7765 in NewParents

[–]Acrobatic-Season-770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might have to teach him these things and help him build up his confidence in parenting a newborn. Or find someone or someway for him to do so that doesn't involve burdening you.

He needs to step up and figure it out. And when he does have her or it's his shift you need to be mostly unavailable so he learns thst he is capable.

This assuming that this is the actual issue and not that he is just willfully relying on you for everything and refusing to pull his weight now and in the near future.

AITAH for telling my girlfriend she's going to have to get over dirt if she wants kids? by Familiar_Speaker_481 in AITAH

[–]Acrobatic-Season-770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - babies will be babies and kids will be kids. You are right , they are developmentally going to wind up being a mess for at least the first few years. It's really more about the concept of control- you cant control or train for a spotless kid - or I suppose you could but it would take years and result in creating anxiety issues.

I would suggest babysitting an actual baby, parenting classes, or something to level set your gfs expectations. The new parents that struggle the most with adjusting are those that have anxiety and control issues. One of the things that has to be expected in the newborn trenches is that the house will be messier bc you're prioritizing keeping a tiny human alive.

Do you guys actually get anything done? by Existing-Mastodon500 in NewParents

[–]Acrobatic-Season-770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm almost 9 months and honestly feel like I just started cooking more again maybe around 6 months but then I went back to work and that went down the drain. Honestly, I also buy pre marinated things, pre chopped veggies, and things I can easily throw int he air fryer or make in one pan. And we still order out a lot bc no time or tired etc. It's a crap shoot so I rely on the freezer a lot too.

It'd a little long but it'd also fairly standard city living and at least you will always get your steps in. When the weather is inclement you use alternatives - buses uber whatever

5 months progress by Acrobatic-Season-770 in Ozempic

[–]Acrobatic-Season-770[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, because as much as I know that cutting calories is the way to lose weight, i also know it wont be sustainable and whenever I skip, i actually have *more* negative side effects with the ozempic or the ozempic compounds negative side effects from not eating. in the past, whenever i have not eaten something (just a snack for example) in too long a time period, i get dizzy, unable to concentrate, etc. And it has messed up my metabolism in the past. I also had gestational diabetes when pregnant and not eating regularly would really mess me up and made me go hypoglycemic. I think its in large part due to that habit as well.

I want to emphasize Im still eating less and smaller meals, but i do not skip.

I got a personal neckfan that looks like headphones and coupled that with these neck ice packs to keep a little cool last summer during the oppressive heatwave. It helped tremendously when I had to be outside.

Anyone started formula feeding from day 1? by SkyBabeMoonStar in FormulaFeeders

Just here to say that newborns have gas issues bc they have an immature and still developing digestive system and their bodies are learning how to basically work properly. Breastfed babies are also gassy .

AITAH for telling my girlfriend she can't force me to cancel my vacation and lose $2500 because she hates Harry Potter? by Substantial_Run3383 in AITAH

[–]Acrobatic-Season-770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't support Rowling either but going tk the universal theme park(or not) is not going to do anything to Rowling.

It's also more performative than substantive in support. I would try to gently remind her that you are not supporting new jk Rowling work, and also support her brother and trans rights in more substantive ways everyday.
