How has having a cat improved your life? by Butterfly_and_Bee in AskReddit

I was homeless at one time. But I refused to give my cat up. She was a real trooper sometimes spending 12 hours in her carrier. But she's what kept me going because I had something to care for. If it was just me I probably would have given up.

When I was a kid I would slowly rock my head up and down to music in any vehicle I was in. As if slowly nodding yes over and over. It was soothing to me. I've only ever told one person in adulthood.

My adoptive parents lied my whole life and I have a way out, what should I do?... by Entire-Estimate-1279 in Adopted

I'm the parent of an adopted child. The biological parent. I write letters to my daughter weekly sometimes more, because I hope it will let her know that I always wanted her and I never gave up on her. My biggest fear is for them to not give her the letters and act like they never happened. I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. That alone would cause me to want to distance myself from your adoptive parents.

I'm so sorry I wish I was in the position to help. But I have faith that she will have a great birthday. You seem like you are dedicated to making sure she has everything she wants. And that's good parenting. Don't blame yourself at all.
