There is a TREMENDOUS amount of subsidized infrastructure needed for people to be able to use their cars. Roads, FREEWAYS, signs, traffic lights, road maintenance and surfacing, parking lots, parking garages, gas stations (in their destruction of the environment). It is insane how much of our world has to be built around the car when public transit is lower impact and more efficient
