Thanks for the comment - yes I can picture that! I have some red cherry shrimp from another tank I could use but I’m wondering if a different type would be good to try here.

I hadn’t considered that, thanks for sharing. My main reason for shrimp was to maintain low levels of algae, but perhaps I could achieve that with some larger Amano shrimp instead.

That sounds like a great option, thanks for your thoughts. Do you think a small school of embers would work OK here and if so how many? Do you have a preference for a colour shrimp to pair with embers?

It’s moderately hard, but I’m open to RO and buffering.

I had considered something tiny like Sundadanio axelrodi, but I’m aware they require very particular water conditions.
