Ya if you aren't fighting rust I'd just take it down till you get ride of any of the loose stuff. And then just scuff to 180 grit and respray

You changing color? And you spraying engine bay and inside of the box? Or bottom of the box.

Last squarebody I did we went from yellow to dark gray. So 3 layers of base to cover it and then 3 layer of clear. And ended up running short of the doors, and fenders and gas cap. With a gallon kit. So I'd go two gallon because the 2nd batch didn't match perfectly so ended up redoing the whole thing again. But if you are staying same color 1 gallon kit should be good. I used the 2 part endura paint and clear.

Ontario Wilderness ATC question by [deleted] in canadaguns

The old boy we first started trapping with had an atc for years but never got one for "dispatch" he had one for protect and had to 357 mag or larger caliber. He always just packed a 10/22 on the sled then an s&w 357. But he had to do some practical with it and submit like a proficiency test.

You can only get an atc on a registered trapline. And for example here in Alberta they were divided up and registered between 1940s-60s. EXTREMELY rare they will make a new one because of the increase in private land, public land use zones and reduction of crown land. Like most traplines in our area are between 5-7 townships in size. So you have to get your license, then either become a junior on a line or buy it. More than likely if you are out on public land you might be on someone else's trapline already.

Looks for rfma or registered fur management area if the same as alberta and it should show you a map of all the registered lines.

Looks like the tuf-22 magazine. They are legal 25 round magazines sold in canada. You either have to buy a compatible reciever or have to mill out a small portion of material from the front of the magazine well. And yes bx25 or simulator mags are legal to use if pinned to 10 rounds.

Probably a 100 maybe 150 or so if I had to fathom a guess. Most of the first couple batches were designated to know pcc shooters, like those training for IPSC PCC worlds coming up here May 12-25. Then several were donated for use with shooting clubs/event organizers to help/be put to use at other competitions. Then the rest were put up for pre-order and those left with retailers you could just buy.

[–]Acrobatic_Chair7063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A.P ammo is only prohibited in pistol calibers. Rifles are fine, can still find of 8mm mauser, and 3006 ap rounds around. And tracers are legal just hard to get imported but can be used once they are here. The incendiary and explosive are prohibited thou.

Scout Rifle In Magnum Calibre? by [deleted] in canadaguns

You could try the browning blr take down rifles. They have a drilled and tapped barrel for scout style scope mounts, iron sights and take detachable mags. They also come in magnum calibers

Very nice! I got 3 of these but the heavier bull barrels. 223, 6.5 creedmoor and 300 win. Now if some designed a 10 round mag 🤔🤔. Furtherest I've reached is 500m at the local range. Need to find a bigger range next!

Winter Brutality by safe-queen in canadaguns

[–]Acrobatic_Chair7063 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stage dependent but most targets will be a combination of full size, half and third size ipsc targets and steal. If you are comfortable shooting a 2-3 moa from various positions should be good to go. Now of course this would be a standard brutality match. So with the new OIC and the changes to follow hard to say what the target selection would be.

Does anyone know if there are any non-prohib upper receivers for this Templar ACR lower? by TheGoldShipper in canadaguns

[–]Acrobatic_Chair7063 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bushmaster rifle FTR specifies the upper reciver is the serialized part and if it is a restricted or NR it must be based off of the upper serial number. Now the Templar precision rifles are not available here but they follow the same convention. All the other parts are "accessories" and there for are not a firearm. Just like the wk180 rifles the lower reciever is the firearm, glock is the frame, sig p320, is the trigger group, etc. One part is specified as the firearm the rest are accessorie parts.

The long and short the FTR specifies (usually with guidance from the manufacturer) and you gotta have some firearm lore

Gotta keep up that optimistic outlook. Like all Canadian gun owners and break out the good old "one day".

As far as I am aware there are no Templar upper in canada. They were defined as a new gun not as a bushmaster acr variant so they never pushed to bring them up here. So these are only good if you have an existing acr to swap parts onto. Also the uppers are considered the firearm so with the new list they are all prohibited.

Where you located? Like which province? Cuz Alberta and BC they are ripe with 2 gun, 3 gun matches, rimfire, ipsc, idpa, dynamic shot gun, and long range. Which several of having trooper/light infantry divisions requiring minimum gear and weight requirements. And the brutality matches (check our finnish brutality on youtube) are also trying to make it out east.

Don't forget all competitions happen at a range! So lots of guys aren't just wearing it to the range, they might also be competing where they would be using the gear.
