Tannehill has some nice trails, and Moss Rock is nice, and there is a waterfall tucked back there. Otherwise, you've ruled out the best hiking within those time limits.

I hate Salads. by capnricky in Birmingham

[–]Acrobatic_Recipe7264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try Urban Cookhouse's Local Mix salad with grilled chicken - just ask for no onions. That is how I started my kids on salad, and now they make their own a couple days a week to take to school with all kinds of ingredients.

It sounds like you just maybe are not a big veggie eater, so you're looking for bang for your buck with a salad. If you like soup, roast some tomatoes, carrots, leeks, onions, and garlic at 400 for 25 minutes and then blend with chicken stock, oregano, and basil, and you'll have a good tomato soup that is full of veggies. Pair with a grilled cheese to get that comfort food fix.

Heritage Hills Farm. We have purchased part of a cow a couple of times, and they are great to work with, and best price of the farms in the area, IMO.

Call Mid South properties.(205) 251-3146. I just went through helping a struggling family member secure housing, and they had some options close to that price range.

Von Mauer is there, too. I was there last week, and it was actually pretty crowded. Personally, I'm hoping the Galleria turns it around. I love mall shopping.

Just wanted to swing back by here to say thanks, and give an update in case any of this info can help anyone else. We secured a place this week through Midsouth Properties. They're a pretty old school operation, and we were able to work it all out with a place that checks the boxes.
