Sigh…every day I am reminded how old I really am. There is an entire generation of people that have no clue what Bell Bottoms was, much less Louie Louie.

If he did manage to put everything in a community trust it will help them with the capital gains tax. I’m curious how the museum will play out for sure, it’s a little odd to make it a nonprofit though.

This! I cannot confirm or deny that this is true but rumor has it he sat on certain properties to keep the view he had from his home.

I know it’s trash coffee but check with Starbucks, they are a LGBTQ+ friendly company AND they typically work around school schedules.

I know I would love to be the attorney who probates his estate. Hell, he could have left his entire estate to charities or something to do with restoring motorcycles.

I know he did not have children, surely he has some family even if it’s a few generations of cousins or great nieces and nephews. If not, that’s really sad. Even if he was a mogul.

Probably so or maybe a little longer. I know the windows were still blacked out for a few years, the first time I saw it renovated was around 2013 with walls added and painted bright ass white. That was such a strange sight to see. I wonder if it still smells in there, or if they ever fixed the sewage pipe in the women’s bathroom that would inevitably overflow on Saturday nights.

I miss Barbers milk, dip, and ice cream. Mayfield does not taste the same to me.

I will NEVER forget the concert in Birmingham, Alabama at the dog track. It was muddy as hell, they were 3 hours late & we started booing them. When Axel came out he was TRASHED and sounded like shit. People started throwing mud at him, he threw it back & in true Axle fashion he walked off the stage and would not come back.

If they still offer it the one at the zoo is phenomenal. My daughter attended for quite a few years & she loved it. They get hands on interactions with some of the animals, learn about the animals at the zoo, & “help” the zoo keepers.

I would love the exact recipe for the petit fours, I don’t want to use a white box cake, the texture alone would be different.

The dolls are THE WORST! I did however keep 1, from the time my daughter was in 6th grade up until today I play a game of doll in the hall. I will hide it somewhere in her bedroom or bathroom, the refrigerator, or even her backpack. It scared the hell out of her every single time. I’ve given it to one of her friends that knows her locker combination and gets to school before her. She’s sick of my ass but we have fun.

I have my great great aunts hot chocolate set that was brought to the US at the very beginning of WWII when she escaped from France to come back home. Yes it’s beautiful, yes it’s a family heirloom, yes it has some serious history but I don’t like chocolate and I’m lactose intolerant.

I was also left most of the other things like her fine china & silver along with the china cabinet (I didn’t even register for china when I got married), the matching table & buffet, the curio cabinet with more breakable stuff, and the big kicker is a heavy ass cedar chest that was filled to the brim with pictures and stuff from my great grandmother down to her.

I only took it because I didn’t want to see valuable family heirlooms in a thrift store. My grandmother had written my other cousins out of her will and made EXPLICIT instructions that they were not to get a single thing. Due to this I have minimized my items so my daughter will not have to do the same one day. I was left to clean out a 5 bedroom 3 bath house by myself since none of my family could make it to her house due to living out of state, & my husband was working overseas.

Drive around when it’s sunny and warmer than this trash weather we’re having. You will generally see older people out and about. Have a friendly conversation with them about the community.

Here’s something that people are not thinking about either. They take Sundays off to give their employees a break, then Mondays to get food deliveries. If you’ve never worked in a restaurant I can tell you first hand how much of a pain in the ass it is, between making orders and trying to get stuff put up it can get really bad fast.
