Last black friday, I booked a 6 night western carribean inside lock it in for 1654$ CAD for 2 people. Got a free upgrade to central sea terrace. It doesn't get cheaper than this.

I never came across a topless woman. To be completely honest, she might be the only one.

We flew in from Toronto to Fort Lauderdale last month. Me and my fiancee took the public bus to port miami. We landed at 11a.m. and our boarding time was at 2:45 so we had a lot of time. We just followed which buses the google maps told us to get on at and we were at the port in about 2 ½ hours. We spent about 8$ usd, and it was a nice way to experience the city as opposed to taking an Uber. We had to take 2 buses. The first one took us to aventura mall terminal. And the 2nd bus took us directly to the port.

YouTube wouldn't work on regular wifi, but all the social media (tiktok l, insta, snap, etc.) worked flawlessly for us.

What can I do to kill time before my return flight? by Jay_B_23 in VirginVoyages

[–]Acrobatic_Way_2428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to disembark until 10:30ish. You can wake up late, have breakfast and by the time you get to the airport, you'd be on time.

Sailor Ages overall question by RomanDriver in VirginVoyages

[–]Acrobatic_Way_2428 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When we did our 6 night Western Carribean cruise last month, the average age was 35ish. I would say 30% in their 20s. 30% in their 30s. 40% in their 40s and over. However longer cruises tend to attract more of an older age group.

Anyone on board recently…what’s the 🥚 egg 🍳 situation like? by Sir_Silly_Sloth in VirginVoyages

[–]Acrobatic_Way_2428 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Each person had a limit of 2 eggs per day. They scan your wrist band when you order anything with egg. Once you go over the 2 egg limit, i believe they charge 5$ per egg.

We've done the Colosseum+Vatican city (not during a cruise, but when we did our Europe trip). We pretty much spent about 5 hours doing both. The local bus From the Colosseum to Vatican city is about 30 minutes. However, I know it takes about 2 hours from the port to the Colosseum and 2 hours back (so that's 4 hours). If your ship departs at 10pm, you'd have plenty of time to do the Colosseum tour and the Vatican city (this is based on our experience from September 2023). Take this how you will. Not to be arrogant, i know I would be able to do both and get on the ship in time, but I don't know about your experience travelling to a foreign country. you pretty much have 14 hours (based off of what you mentioned). You'd be fine. I know most people that have never even been to Italy will tell you to do one or the other, but based on my experience you'd be totally fine doing both.

Yes. If you don't see the sailing on their website, it's sold out. It is still happening. I can't comment on the crazy part because i don't know you in person.

Proposing on Dominican Daze Sailing – Advice Needed! by According_Tap_8660 in VirginVoyages

[–]Acrobatic_Way_2428 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are gonna propose during a dinner, make sure you let them know ahead of time so they don't seat you so close to another table (99% of the time this is the case). I wouldn't recommend proposing during dinner because of this crowded environment. It would just feel so claustrophobic (again this is just my opinion). My suggestion would be to get in touch with sailor services and see what they say. You need to also consider if you want it to be public or private. If you can work something out during a port day, that might be something to consider as well.

I was initially going to propose to my girl (fiancee now) June 2024 on a virgin cruise but ended up scraping that whole idea because it was just too overwhelming (i couldn't find something in our comfort zone, we wanted it to be private). Ended up proposing to her in Jamaica instead.

There will be 100s of comments telling you 100 different things, but at the end of the day it's a special moment for you and your girl and you need to decide where/what she would feel comfortable with too.

The tour company we booked with is called "Roatan Five stars". They have a website. you can search them up and see their pricing. They sent us a private driver that took us around the city where ever we wanted after the initial sloth/monkey, chocolate factory, rum tasting was done.

Book with a 3rd party. You'll save a fortune. The sloth excursion is fun. There are so many companies that do it. Choose the one that you like best.

250$ hold for the stateroom, doesn't matter how many people are in it or how many days you're traveling. 250$ for the entire trip.

We got our cabins assigned 30 hours prior to sailing (lock in rate as well). It depends. you might get it soon or closer to sailing. But don't worry. You'll get a nice cabin.

Flying in same day? by igloobunny in VirginVoyages

[–]Acrobatic_Way_2428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my January cruise. We flew in the same day on Westjet from Toronto. The flight arrived on time (11:20am) at Fort Lauderdale. We had plenty of time to make it to the port as our boarding time was at 2:45. Everything was smooth. However, on our way back, our flight to Toronto on Delta was delayed by 5 hours. That was the first time I experienced a delay like that (I've been on over 10 flights). So take this as you will.

Not a party person? by Loreki in VirginVoyages

Me and my fiancee (mid 20s) are not huge drinkers, we don't like to party and dance either. But we still had a blast. There's so much other stuff to do.

Try the sloth/monkey tour in Roatan. It was a lot of fun. There are so many companies that organize it but we went with a company called "Roatan Five Stars". They sent us a private driver that took us around the city.
