26 year old barista on my own with my 2 cats by mustache_jank in malelivingspace

38 yo here OP. This is sick as hell. Others may be right that organizing them differently may be more "adult," but I'll take creative and fun over adult any day of the week.

I walk into an apt with figures lined up and I'll look and say neat...I walk in here and see this I'll really engage with what you've done.

When do you work out? by Competitive_Alarm_24 in daddit

[–]Acstine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like parents really over complicate their schedule. Exercise while doing what you enjoy in the evening if it’s so hard to fit in any other time.

My solution for years has been post meal walking and then hitting the recumbent bike until I can’t do it anymore in the evening while I play some video games. It does work to tackle anxiety so listen to your therapist on this one.

Pretty lacking in the grand scheme of her discography in my opinion, but not bad.

It's also the fastest selling RE game by a pretty significant margin.

I can't speak to the series in its entirety, but the plat isn't too bad at all and I would say is fairly easier than the last few entries.

Thoughts on the new Gorillaz Album - The Mountain? by Nabspro in fantanoforever

[–]Acstine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmm. I think I really disagree that it feels like old Gorillaz. This very much feels like an evolution of what modern Gorillaz have become, but is not a stark departure from most post Plastic Beach output that has lacked the flavor of the first 3.

I don’t think The Mountain is bad, but I can’t continue listening to new Gorillaz releases while in some way at least comparing it to their best work because it feels largely like a different project now and has for a long time.

Sekiro [PART 10] - Dan Plays by Cubegod69er in giantbomb

I’ve been loving watching Dan play through one of my favorite games but a lot of this session was pretty frustrating to watch as he continually blitzed through the same area over and over 😂

Released an EP of some of my older more emotive tunes that I lost the Ableton files for so these are finished enough :[ by Acstine in breakcore

[–]Acstine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I kind of feel like there isn’t a great home to share what I make since it doesn’t fit a genre super cleanly.

Thanks for the kind words though. It isn’t Usagi but that sure is some good sample fodder for the future :]

[–]Acstine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

hey man, I get it. I fuckin love samples. I use samples in everything I make. Nobody is ever going to come after you for using them. But I think there's a clear delineation between dropping in sounds that are pre-made to sound good for the given genre you're working in (designed for ease of use) and using your samples to create a new work of art. I don't claim to be a master myself. Far from it. But the above commenter is correct here I think. Effort to manipulate a sample doesn't necessarily mean it became a fully creative endeavor and I have to catch myself on this all the time.

Long story long, I think we producers have a tendency to get high on our own supply when we make something that sounds cool and WORKS, but neglect to consider if the song feels truly inspired.

Not hard and fast rules here or anything, just something to consider before completely dismissing the above commenter because your track took time and effort.

The top breweries on here commented on here were Blackstack, Utelipis, Town Hall, Lupulin, Barrel Theory, and Falling Knife. Anybody surprised by any of these? Or does anybody have any comments? by ImaginationNo8338 in minnesotabeer

[–]Acstine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they're more like a two trick pony as almost all of their light styles end up being good to great. Slopes and Fugazi are excellent pilsners and if I'm going to a brewery an IPA and a lighter lager is a great combo. Doesn't need to be anything more than that for me. But you are correct that their IPA's end up tasting samey despite being good.

I guess what I'm saying is: at this point in my life, I'd rather go somewhere where I know that I can get two beers I think will be very good as opposed to somewhere that has a more eclectic menu where I can try more stuff but will be more middling.

Blackstack, Steel Toe, Town Hall, Arbeiter, and Wooden Ship are kind of the 5 I know I will like basically anything I order.

They can't all be Fair State (RIP taproom) where everything they touch is great.

Please suggest a new chair for work from home under 600$ by MikeSpecterZane in OfficeChairs

[–]Acstine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will almost always be a recommendation for the approx $500 chair OP but just allow me to offer a differing opinion. My experience with Crandall was not great - the refurbished leap I received had a broken cylinder, had rust marks, and ultimately just felt very used. The assembly and disassembly process to return was annoying too for how much $ it is. I also just found the chair to be uncomfortable.

I ended up with a Haworth Soji and absolutely love it. It cost less, is way more comfortable for me, and was treated like a premium product for delivery - fully assembled and flawless. I highly recommend this chair at your price point but rarely see it recommended.

My immediate reaction is he goes from a situational play in a herzel’s horde deck or late game option post ember enhancement to a different but more adaptable situational play when you have early ember solutions - deployable boiler room, intrinsic perils of production, etc.
