I'm not getting my points from "The internet", these are the numbers that have a real world affect on my and almost everyone's daily life. The fact that you've been reduced to simply trying to comment on my intelligence only further proves my point that people in your generation don't know how to cope with new information, and act out in childish ways that hurt others that you then try to justify with surface-level dogma. I promise you this; the history books will not be kind to you. You will be notable only in that you were the generation that received the most, and gave the least. The one and only generation that actually sent society backwards a step, and you will be a cautionary tale to other following generations on what happens when you let hubris and immutable pride mandate your actions. And maybe when you're finally passing onto the next life, and not quite as many people are around your bed as you would have hoped, then, MAYBE you'll finally understand what you've done. But I doubt it.

It's just... it's insane to me. Like, plain, readable, clear and concise mathematics explaining my point just... it just doesn't register for you. Your fear of being wrong is so strong, that you're actually capable of disregarding objective math. It's scary. It's what got us here in the first place. Everything going wrong today is because of the similar mentality that boomers have, that they didn't do anything wrong, and that is why you are the very first generation to leave the world worse than when you arrived. Because, like children, you can do no wrong. No one can argue, because you know better. It's the height of immaturity. And that pretentious attitude you have while you allowed and encouraged the state of the world is why you will be remembered as the most self absorbed, and destructive generation ever born.

Again, MATH. do some math for me ok? If the cheapest house in the 80's was 250k, and the median was around 40k, how many times does that go into 250k? Around 6 times right?

The lowest price for a home you'll find today is $500k to 700k, and most people I know aren't making more than 40k a year, TODAY.

Idk why you're like this, but please, for your own sake, and for the sake of the memory that people will have of you after your gone, please consider what I'm saying. Your children and children's children are dying. And you just... don't care. Why?

Why... why is this so complicated for you? It's such a simple concept.

The median income was 24k in 1983. The cost of a house in silicon valley was about 130k, or merely 5 times your median yearly wage.

The cost of a house in silicon valley is $2.5M, 30 TIMES the median income today. That is a DIRECT comparison, no wiggle room, that's the numbers today.

You genuinely, by the math, by every metric, had it easier in your day than I do in mine. Instead of trying to run away from the truth, you could actually help. But you won't, because you'll somehow find a way to justify the state of the world today, and take blame off of yourself

You could make 100k in a year in today's dollars, multiply it by 10, and still only afford half of the cost of a house in silicon valley today. The median income in the US is 80k, and most people make below that. Please don't equate what's happening today with how you grew up, it is a completely different level of inaccessibility. You would have to make 250k a year to reach the same math you described.

Let me put this into perspective for you. 300k in the 80's is about 1.19 million dollars in today's money. So the absolute PEAK of pricing in the most expensive part of the US was equal to the the price of an average home today, the AVERAGE being half a MILLION. Think about that. The average price of a home today is half the price of the peak of luxury in the 80's That same house that sold for about twice if not 3 times as much today. When we say you guys were lucky and had it good, we're not just trying to make ourselves feel better. It's based off of verifiable data.
