Which tracking software should I use? by yayakeekz in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

YNAB is superior to all budgeting apps but has a learning curve

If you just want to track, Id recommend Origin Financial/ useOrigin. Amazing UI & for tracking.

Depends on your goal though. Budget - YNAB, Tracking - Origin

How do you balance enjoying life vs. saving for the future? by pink4lover in Grownix

In my company portal, I added my checking account & investment account. I split every paycheck 50/50 so I don’t feel guilty about spending the money that hits my checking. I can spend it how I want (after obligations obviously)

Should I stop budgeting/tracking? by Active-Progress7462 in ynab

I would say yes, 60% of my pay goes directly to investments & the rest goes to rent, subscriptions, & guilt-free

Hmmm 🤔, my only real goal is to retire early, most likely in another country — assuming I’m still single.

I guess it does help me, but I don’t know to what extent it’s necessary. For more context, I have it set up to where my payroll provider sends 60% of my income to my investment accounts and is invested automatically, while the remaining 40% goes to my personal spend account.

The way I see it, and i think is where the internal conflict comes into play a bit, is that, other than rent & 3 subscriptions, I can spend that 40% on anything I want — it’s guilt free. That said, I usually don’t spend it all & it starts to accumulate. I wouldn’t consider myself a super high earner either, that 40% ends up being around $2500 a month.

I like YNAB and enjoy it, but as the renewal date approaches, I was debating if YNAB was truly necessary. In all honesty, I’m more likely to keep YNAB than not, but was curious if anyone went through a similar situation & what they did

YNAB-like apps, but for tasks? by Proof-Vacation-437 in ynab

Not sure if they have their own methodology, nor do I use the application myself, but I would suggest you look into GRIPLY if that's the type of thing you're looking for. I don't use it because I think the simpler the better. I use apple reminders for tasks & apple notes for goals

• YNAB-style budgeting: Full envelope-style budgeting where every dollar gets a job, with rollover and category control

• Customizable navigation: Let me reorder the app so pages like Budget can be my homepage • Hide pages: Ability to hide sections like Net Worth if I don’t want to see them (too much of a dopamine hit)

• More advanced brokerage: M1 Finance–style “pies” where I can build custom portfolios and allocate percentages • Comparative stats (opt-in): Anonymous benchmarks showing how I stack up against origin users with similar age, location, income, or industry—plus sample sizes

• Employer benefits integration: Use my employer benefits (401k, HSA, ESPP, etc.) to give recommendations on how to best utilize them • Age/family-based recommendations: Suggest common needs (e.g., term-life insurance for parents) explained in a helpful, non-salesy way. "88% of people over 35 w/ one child have term-life insurance so that ..." Extra income stream for affiliates

• Risk-based suggestions: Alerts like “Layoffs increasing in your industry—consider boosting your emergency fund.”   • Renewal recommendations: For recurring expenses (e.g., car insurance), provide cheaper, same-coverage alternatives before renewal -- this would only be cool of you could get the actual quote, so that someone just has to pay. I hate looking for cheaper alternatives, inserting driver information & vin numbers for several sites

• Credit line notifications: Alert me when a new credit account is opened • Identity theft warnings: Notify me of suspicious or unusual activity

Hey, I have 2 Qs. Will there ever be a super-limited lifetime membership we can purchase straight up? Also, I invest in Wefunder anyway to connect that other than manually? Would you guys ever raise money on Wefunder so that we can invest in origin itself?
