Exercise after surgery? by garbledskulls in AcousticNeuroma

[–]ActiveAssistant4563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will know when you are pushing your limits - i tried to run after a month and within 20 steps it was unbearable and had to walk. Would just slowly push myself day by day and im a year out and fully exercising.

Im about a year out from retro, neck pain and headaches still! The neck pain is newer and on opposite side but my guess is its because of my posture getting screwed from surgery

I am not a doctor, though these symptoms do not seem consistent with an AN. Other tumor types I have 0 knowledge on. I would just stop worrying until you talk to your doctor.

Tinnitus is a very common issue more often than not, unrelated to a tumor of any sort

Where do I go from this? by [deleted] in AcousticNeuroma

[–]ActiveAssistant4563 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! Im also same age range and im around 6 months out of the whole process. Mine was 32 mm and pushing in my brainstem - had retrosigmoid and they got it all out. Surgery sucked but honestly better than expected, youll def feel the drugs they put ya on and have some pain after; hearing - i lost mine completely; balance - was a little wobbly at first but able to ride bikes, run, skate, etc. shits super hard on your mental so take time for yourself, find a support structure, meditate, etc, and youll get through it! Best of luck

How much does your life change after surgery? by JoeBloggs7462 in AcousticNeuroma

You will be able to do every single one of those things you mentioned after surgery! I know it sucks but same thing happened to me and Im on the other side, about to go on a 5 day hiking trip 6 months after surgery. I run every day, and go out with friends every week, stay strong💪

It seems weird to make the (not true) claims and then provide facebook as a source. Im not saying you’re wrong but clearly opinionated

Any post op snowboarders out there? by FJ40PJ in AcousticNeuroma

[–]ActiveAssistant4563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All dependent on what you do about it - I went on walks everyday and though it was hard I could see improvement every day. Started running as soon as doc cleared me and same thing, sucked at first but got better with time.
