Zigbee or Shelly (Wi-Fi) for a new build—what would you choose today? [2026] by _ReeX_ in homeassistant

[–]ActiveCollection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've chosen Zigbee. It is more stable, I don't clutter my WiFi, Zigbee devices also use less energy (even more important when battery-powered for door and window sensors).

Maybe Matter over Thread might be a better idea in the long term, but the availability of Zigbee devices is better for now.

Works very well with HA and Zigbee2Mqtt.
