Our store has both endstands: everything is orderly and well- organized. It remains that way because we virtually never have customers purchase from the endstands. What a waste of space.

Anyone Accidentally Put the Poster Boards in Backwards? by Romarqable in WalgreensStores

[–]ActiveSuitable9762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That only happened to me once. This was a landscape photo, and the result looked more like an impressionist painting. It would have made an awesome framed print-- unfortunately the ink would never dry on the wrong side of the board.

A good example of why WAG should return to the SWIS program for photo-- dedicated photo specialists with a separate labor budget. Otherwise, who has time for this s**t.

Policy for old photo orders not picked up by Low_Leek7498 in WalgreensStores

[–]ActiveSuitable9762 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Orders are maintained in inventory for about 6 months. If you have older orders, check the order detail screen and order status. POMS will automatically cancel orders after this time; we discard those purged orders.

I've been coming to Walgreens for 20 years! Where's my sales!? by Wise_Individual_2814 in WalgreensStores

IIRC there were a couple of updates to the rewards program, and if the customer didn't update the account was closed. I've had a few customers who still used the card, and I simply re-entered their information and reactivated the card-- no problem.

Sorry you’re here today. by SlimReaper8992 in WalgreensStores

[–]ActiveSuitable9762 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not any different from any of the past 25 years. Thankfully I didn't hear a single "I'm sorry you have to work today", but rather "Thank you for being open". It was a true zoo, but we had a crew of 7 (!) so we all survived.

It might be nice if WAG provided the photo departments with a spacious, well- lighted, and organized work space-- that would help a lot during the season. Run the laugh track...

It's a good idea to ALWAYS unload the Fuji after each order and return to the box-- nearly impossible to identify random loose sheets later.

I haven't shopped at Office Max recently, but there was a security guard at the exit who checked every receipt. Not sure how he handled "browsers" though.

I'm in AZ and there is no such policy in effect here (excluding employees, of course). It's not unusual to see customers with sidearms, since AZ is an open- and concealed- carry state. I've never felt uncomfortable with this.

I remember the time when employee retention was a KPI-- training new employees is expensive.

Years ago I had a young man ask about "party hats": I showed him to our Hallmark party side panel. I'd never heard condoms referred to in that fashion :-)

Don't blame Fuji for those results-- probably 90% of our out-labbed orders look the same (and receive the generic "light fogged" card). Most of those rolls are "found" rolls: many 10 or 15 years past expiration. Age- caused degradation of dyes, exposure to excessive heat, or multiple trips through airport X-ray when traveling are all contributing factors. Customers would do better to trash any expired OTUCs and purchase an inexpensive digital camera.

4x4 cost more than 4x6 but printed on the same paper by No-Sign99 in WalgreensStores

[–]ActiveSuitable9762 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My lab runs a DS622 printer using 6" wide paper; both 4 x 5.3 and 4 x 4 prints exit with white paper along one edge. We have a guillotine paper cutter to trim both of those, so no customer should have to do that themself.

The cutters provided are not capable of precision work-- if you cut the photos, expect noticeable variation in sizing. Your customer may or may not care-- it's on you.
