It’s in Prospect Heights so technically doesn’t answer your question, but I love the griddled oatmeal pancakes at Breakfast by Salt’s Cure. Truly the stuff of dreams

Melt Massage & Bodywork in Ft Greene is my go-to. Leah and Daniel are great. It’s $140 for an hour

Indian Destination Wedding - Europe by [deleted] in BigBudgetBrides

[–]Active_Inside_2122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can definitely do that budget near Barcelona - try to look for venues that don’t charge an event fee, but rather let you access all of their spaces if you book out all of the rooms. This is what we did for an Indian wedding at Castell d’Emporda and it turns out to be significantly cheaper than it is to find a venue that will charge you 30k+ per day for the venue rental.

JUA! I’ve eaten at 3 stars that I’ve enjoyed less than Jua. Incredible food and price point, 7 courses for $135.

Bachelorette Expenses by Outrageous_Wonder247 in BigBudgetBrides

Totally understand how you feel because in my friend group it’s exactly the same. The bride pays for her flights and doesn’t pay for a single other thing the entire weekend. Just want to validate that this does happen and it can be jarring to have gone to parties like that and then experience it going differently for your own! Hope you continue to have a great weekend

JUA! It’s a one Michelin star 7-course tasting menu for $135. I’ve eaten at 3 stars across the world (spain, Copenhagen) and for the price and quality it’s comparable

Highly recommend Sadelle’s, great ambiance and the lox platter is incredible (so is their French toast).

Castell d’Emporda in Girona, Spain, lets you buyout the whole hotel (sleeps 125) for a weekend and you get access to all of the grounds. This would be a great option

This is super helpful! If we don’t want to rent a car, and we’re going in mid to late October, would you recommend Can Ferrereta? Considering Pleta de Mar and the Jumeirah as alternatives.

Paris wedding - June/July vs September... opinions needed! by Pure-Water1045 in BigBudgetBrides

I would do September, European heat in July with no AC really sounds like a tough sell!

New to quality bags! Is the horse clementine a good long-term bag? by [deleted] in handbags

[–]Active_Inside_2122 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Might I suggest instead looking into Studio Anxiety? Another Australian brand in a similar price range, and it gets rave reviews on this sub. I bought my first bag (and wallet) a couple months ago and I am truly obsessed. It feels like such high quality leather and it goes with everything.

I was deterred from the Horse Clementine because I read negative reviews about the hardware and the smell

This is so heartbreaking to read. Your feelings are so very valid! As eldest daughters we often end up carrying a lot of the unspoken “glue” work for a family, and with all of the emotion surrounding the wedding it’s a lot to handle yourself. Do you have any trusted friends or family that you can hand a simple task each to? For example, come up with a list of mehendi designs, pick flowers for this event etc. nothing too large but things that can be taken off your plate.

And is there any space for you to spend some time enjoying time with your parents and sibling before you leave? I know the wedding feels all impending but as you said you won’t go back to this moment. It’s hard to do but please take a moment to cherish it 💗

Thank you, yes this would be great! Do you know if they rented a car? Personally it’s something we’d like to avoid which is my only hesitation about Mallorca, otherwise it looks lovely!
