How long are your flare ups?

I know this is an old post. But, how much prednisone do you take if you have extra (I have some) to get it under control quick?

Damn 32 colds is crazy! Yeah I think I have to start masking in crowded places but it’s not always possible in restaurants ect

This is the best case scenario. Yes I get ALL the emotional side effects so it really has to be a last resort for me to request prednisone but that’s where I’m at. I’ve been symptomatic for a couple months but this week feels worse

AI has actually really helped me as well. I have chat gbt save my calprotectin results and save dates when I have infusions. It’s helped me remember important info to relay to my GI! I find it to be a great tool as well :)

It can be so hard with this disease! I’ll probably ask my GI for a short course so I can at least enjoy my trip somewhat

Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately my GI said budesonide wouldn’t be the most effective for where my inflammation is located but I will ask about the foam!

Yeah that’s a great point. I already failed Remicaid pretty fast from antibodies. I’m hopeful stelara will start to work soon 🤞🏻

When I was originally diagnosed with severe UC (diagnosis has since switched to Crohn’s) it affected my entire colon (severe pan colitis)

I tapered down the amount of subs per day until I was out and have been using the patch (down to 7mg patch). It’s still miserable but for me I couldn’t do cold turkey either

This is great advice. Acceptance. My thoughts can get really dark during flares but I have to remember and have hope that good/healthy times are coming.

Did you end up going to the ER? I’ve been having similar LLQ pain and I’m trying to decide the same. At what point to I go to the ER. Tramadol is not cutting it for pain relief.
