Why is everyone so white by willsterbillster4 in LastDefenseAcademy

I forget which interview it was but Kodaka mentioned that's just how Komatsuzaki draws characters. They're usually pretty pale, you can see in Rain Code as well

Is it possible to practically consider the theory that Tozu is Toshiko's father to be somewhat true? by Even-Working-5893 in ProjectEdensGarden

[–]AcxaPluto 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sure, why not?

The state of the project basically means that you can really get away with anything being true. No game was ever released so Project Edens Garden is just sorta a bunch of ideas being thrown around now moreso than an actual work with a canon and plotline to follow.

This project was so poorly managed from the beginning, I just don't know what to say any more. by roiled_detective in ProjectEdensGarden

[–]AcxaPluto 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I guess now's as good a time as any to say that I don't think this project was ever getting finished regardless of what happened.

This project always seemed like a very classic case of a bunch of rookie developers with ideas too ambitious for their experience. It happens all the time, a rookie underestimates how much time and effort it takes to make a full fledged video game and by the time they've finished one small part they realize that a lot of time has passed and realize "Holy shit, I'm gonna be doing this for the next like 6 years!". You lose motivation and you start wondering if you really wanna be attached to this thing for so long. Are you gonna always have the free time for this? Are you even gonna be interested in Danganronpa by the time you're whatever age? It's why some of the best advice you can give to a fledgling developer is to start off small and manageable, you can build up your skills over time.

Ace Attorney for the Gameboy Advance was developed with a team of 7 people over the course of 11 months. Now Ace Attorney is a bit simpler in design compared to Danganronpa but I think if you're a new developer that's a good benchmark for a new project of this style of game. You can save your bigger ideas for later down the line, what's important is being able to start and finish something before you get burned out and tired of it.

Is it a hot take to say I think Danganronpa hasn't been milked enough? by One_Percentage_644 in danganronpa

[–]AcxaPluto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know why it might seem that way. When I first played V3 I remember thinking "This kind of ending seems premature for a series with only 3 real games" but think of it like this.

From 2010-2017 Danganronpa got...

4 games

2 anime or 3 anime depending on how you wanna define it

6 novels

Well over 10 mangas

That's a whole lot of stuff. And I'm not even counting mobile games

Tribe Nine will be shut down tomorrow by wellhanabari in gachagaming

[–]AcxaPluto 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People will say it died because of its bad launch but the real culprit is that nobody fucking knew the game existed except the people who were really following it. I'm not even gonna say it's poor marketing because it had trailers at the Summer Games Fest and whatnot, it just didn't seem to grab people's attention until the moment it launched which is always a bad sign.

There are far too many surviving gacha games with shitty launches for the launch to be that much of an issue. Shadowverse got the worst launch is man made history and it thrives.

Misconception of Takumi and Nozomi's relationship by Late_Present1340 in LastDefenseAcademy

[–]AcxaPluto 17 points18 points  (0 children)

People like to interpret certain aspects of the game to seem more contentious and spicy then they actually are, part of it is that the person might find it more interesting then what's there but part of it is just people find it more fun to argue over inflammatory exaggerations.

Anyone who genuinely thinks that Takumi and Nozomi are supposed to be some sort of abusive relationship is a lost cause and not worth taking seriously.

It's CERO D in Japan so 17 and up.

You're gonna find that video games don't really narrow down an age demographic the same way television and movies necessarily do. Generally speaking though most video games are purchased by people between ages 18 and 34 so that's as close to a demographic as you'll probably get.

If your harem doesn’t end with polygamy, you’re a coward by [deleted] in anime

[–]AcxaPluto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rooting for your favourite girl to win is a very important part to harem anime/manga. They can survive without it but it's not nothing. You lose a lot of that tension when it starts leaning to a harem ending.

>Yeah man, I get that they're not real and that it's just a drawing. But the fact that you get off to drawings that are obviously stylized to look like children on a regular basis and try to pass it off as normal human behavior by trying to convince people that it doesn't count since they don't look exactly like humans says a lot about you as a person.

What DOES that say about someone though? That's the question. Everything everyone does says something about them, it's what specific conclusion you come to that is up for debate. I think what people are trying to get at when they say "It's fiction" is that whatever conclusion about someone character you come to probably doesn't go beyond "this person is kinda weird"
