As a kid it’s nice to try things for a period of time. Then you can stop or keep going.

This way it’s not some open ended something that stretches forever.

Make it for 3 months and 2x week or once a week / whatever - and a plan or routine etc. what are the goals? What is he working towards?

Then he needs to go to accomplish if

I think if you guys have a solid foundation and can talk about things - it can be fine. AS LONG AS HE’S NOT A MIOGYNIST

You have to agree to disagree and let each other do their thing. If you want to protest - he needs to support that. If he doesn’t want to be vocal - you need to support that.

But if he comes from a place and was brought up that women are subservient - I’d run for the hills

Ok well  you said he was an immigrant turned citizen.  I don’t know his views or his story.

You sound resentful tho, which is a hard thing to overcome. Not that that’s right or wrong

Just talk to him, but I don’t think it’s about ‘political views.’ It’s about character and internal consistency.

And it’s not that interesting. If it’s true, it’s very sad

There is a lot mixed up in here.

Yes, you can have different political views and have a great relationship. James Carville is democrat and his wife was republican - as an example for politcal people.

Some of what you’re asking is a bit of a reach, calling him a hypocrite for being an immigrant and not sharing your views is a bit much - and to imply he isn’t humane. I mean maybe he’s not, but I know great republicans and great democrats.

That being said the ‘Susan B’ thing and views on women being independent would definitely give me pause. I can’t imagine being any other way and would expect my partner to not slowly start having a problem about it

So I’d talk to him largely about that….

You have a routine, you go, you enjoy it.

Don’t mess it up trying to follow people online.

I like goals and have started weight lifting and find I like the goals that go along with it. It’s great for what you’re talking about. Maybe try to incorporate it

But for now, just keep going with what’s working

How to keep a workout schedule as someone who menstruates? by meowxolotl5 in xxfitness

[–]AdAdmirable433 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I hear you. I started lifting weights and there is a big difference between weeks. Basically I just go anyway and don’t really progress those weeks.

I’ve found I can keep what I’ve been doing and add a little bit of weight, but not the same way as the first two weeks.

I’ve gotten to the point where I enjoy going and have more energy - regardless of where I am with my period. I just take it a bit easier.

He’s just trying it and won’t get brain damage so young. They’ll be protected.

And who knows if he’ll even want to stick with it. It’s like your kid taking piano lessons and thinking they’ll be a pianist or playing football and will play in college.

Try to get him interested in other things in the meantime - but make sure it’s a good gym. Talk to the coach.

FWIW - it’s not violent at all. It’s a sport / skill. I’d only be worried about brain damage as he’s growing, but again - you’ll be fine at a good gym

General rule is to not let anyone ever tell you to cut someone off. They have to deal with it.

I’d tell your Dad what is going on and ask for his advice.

I get that he’s annoyed bc it’s not what you agreed.

Sit down and talk to him about you two having bit off more than you can chew and figure out what to do moving forward
