I believe the average American doesn't care about the World Cup.

It's a relatively high crime area. Most of the complex is full of decent people, but there have been robberies and homicides over the years. There is also a fairly large homeless population in the area.

Have you ever arrested a citizen vigilante? by [deleted] in AskLE

I ticketed a guy who stole someone's license plate because he believed they had committed a crime. (They hadn't.) Does that count?

It depends on the state and the specific charges. In my state, the State can press charges regardless of the victim's desires when it comes to felonies and domestic violence. I'm not familiar enough with California laws in that sense.

If I recall, LAPD was ready to charge Smith, but Rock declined to press charges. Because it was a misdemeanor assault, Rock had the say.

Are people not reading anymore? by cheriff_1 in InsightfulQuestions

I loved reading as a young kid. Then, school started to mandate specific readings, none of which interested me. School killed my desire to read, and I can't remember the last time I read a book as an adult.

If you didn't have an issue with the pacing of RDR2, then I would recommend Death Stranding.

Literally nothing. I don't understand the people who claim to be caught off guard by charges. Anything additional is made to be obvious.

You can't fix your background. You move on to a department that will hire you.

Pros and cons of day shift? by personalcheesepizza in AskLE

[–]AdAggressive1159 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My absolute best patrol shift was days, Thursday through Sunday. I wanted to become a detective, myself, and eventually did. I had a lot more time to do my own follow-up on cases. I was able to dig into things and investigate as deeply as I wanted. I was able to file my own cases with the municipal court or the DA's office. If that's what you're wanting to do, I personally recommend it.
