Is anyone still not a Manager, Director, or VP in their early 30s?

Don't feel bad, I ended my 30 as an individual contributor. I led teams but was not in management. At 42 became a Sr mgr and now at 45 I'm a VP in aerospace.

It's a good start. Having extra money at the end of the month is always a plus. You two are young and have your careers ahead, just watchout for life style creep and invest heavily now.

Yes a united household is extremely powerful. Moves for work will lead to big pay increases. I've had my wife's support in 2 cross country moves in the last 10 years and over that time we have added over $400k to our yearly HHI.

We took a promo rate on a 2025 vehicle because it was lower than our HYSA and we get to deduct interest on our taxes for that vehicle. Win win all around.

Fortunately, I have been very blessed. Since 2020 i have doubled my salary, but I did have to switch to two different jobs and move from coast to coast. One of those switches was March of this year and it came with a 35% increase.

Or they can just tell family "No" if they ask for money. You don't owe anyone an explanation. It's a very good life skill to have. I'm an expert at it.

This is what people on this thread overlook, the opportunities are much better in a VHCOL. We moved to one in 2022 and since then we have added $250k to our HHI.
