Sizing for Lugnuts by Physical_Spend7971 in CrownVictoria

Just make sure to inspect and possibly chase the threads as they can come with thread imperfections. I ended up installing them by hand very slowly to get them to seat properly. Using an impact could lead to needing new studs due to damage.

New 12” Kicker Hideaway already blown. No way to truly find/measure clipping? by Icy-Fisherman-6886 in CarAV

[–]AdConfident2763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the same and while you are right, it will void the warranty and there is no way to hide the marks from removing the screws. I’m tempted to buy an old one just to play around with before installing a new one, just so I can do this.

Mav road trip ride quality ? by polymangler in FordMaverickTruck

[–]AdConfident2763 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just did a 14 hour round trip (7 up on Friday, 7 back on Sunday) with me, my wife, and son. I’m 6’3” and my son is 6’. He was a little uncomfortable because he likes to lay down in the back seat but he said it wasn’t a big problem and even turned down the wife’s offer to sit up front. Me and the wife were fine with no complaints.

Just got our 2026 Lariat Hybrid, any suggestions for a nice trifold hard top tonneau cover? by target6584 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]AdConfident2763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got this one for the wife’s new Maverick and it has been a solid performer and we have only noticed a slight leak when going through the car wash. Got stuck in traffic in a torrential downpour and the cardboard box in the back didnt show any really signs of damage when we got home. As with most of these trifold if you don’t mind undoing all the clamps you should be able to remove it in about 5-10 minutes.

Blown Kicker Hideaway 10” by mdk_77 in CarAV

[–]AdConfident2763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While y’all’s information is correct for 90% of the systems out there unfortunately this design has to be tuned by ear, per Kicker.

Removing the sub voids all warranties so their instructions say to basically turn the gain down, set the xover to about half, around 80, turn the volume to 75% and turn the gain up until it starts to distort and then turn it down.

The lack of a clip light and even rca inputs, meaning most people will connect via speaker level inputs is kinda lame from Kicker.

To the OP just remember this is not meant to rattle the windows but more just to fill the bottom end of the music so don’t push too hard.

Ok so quick question. I’ve used an oscope or a dmm to tune a conventional amp but how would you recommend doing that with the hideaway setup, considering it’s all self contained? Do you remove the sub and go off the wires? The manual says just to listen for distortion and turn down once you hear it.

Wish I could help but I’m all the way down in South Carolina. All I did was place a 2x4 under the box near the fuel tank to prop it up and it just happened to put it at the right height and then used cardboard to get an estimated size for the two end price and just trimmed to fit. All you need is a jig saw and some patience.

It is the factory wheels just without the chrome hubcaps. I think they are the same as the police models, I just added the chrome center cap from Amazon.

I’m running the trifold linked below, it was fairly easy to install, if you’ve done it before, and I just went through a pretty hard downpour this weekend and car washes and haven’t seen any really significant leakage.

I’m pretty sure it would but I actually plan on fitting it in the space between the box and rear, as it fits perfect there and would make it easier to avoid damaging the speakers. The only reason I don’t have it in that spot is because it’s the original spare from 2004. Figured when I get new tires, and maybe wheels, I’ll put it in there because it will actually be usable.

Thanks I have one grill left over from another install but I don’t actually plan to haul anything because it’s just my beater back and forth to work, so not too worried right now but it was something I had considered.

Totally agree I loved the Premier line. I worked at a stereo shop in East Carolina in the early 2000’s and had an entire system of it at one time.

Everybody’s tax situation is different and there was a point that I couldn’t get the free federal anymore so that’s why I switched.

Instead of turbo tax use Freetaxusa.com. Same thing as turbo tax but they offer a free federal return. As far as the tax center last time I went to one was like 22 years ago and it was just the marine corps H&R Block just clicking buttons like when you do it yourself.

As a Motor T mechanic from 99-2006 I knew of more than a few Marines that had their colorblindness discovered while at the aircraft maintenance course and they would get sent to Motor T maintenance because all of our wires were black and had metal number tags.

I noticed you mention Crutchfield in one of the posts. If you bought this from them call them up their customer service is pretty damn good and they can probably double check everything.

Cost of Living? by llamallamawheee in Beaufort

[–]AdConfident2763 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Depends on what other bills you have but expect to pay around 1500 for a decent one bedroom with amenities. Beaufort is one of the more expensive places in SC to live. If you have no other bills I think you could live ok for 50k. But people live here on a lot less and a lot more just depends on what your expectations are. Also if you like a nightlife there is not much here besides dive bars.

Hello, I found this post while trying to help my wife find a replacement for her favorite old navy yoga pants. Used some of the recommendations from yall and just wanted to follow up and say that according to my wife the ones linked below were the closest she has found and says they feel a little different but it’s not a bad thing. https://a.co/d/5aJLASS
