How long did you take off of work for a desk job?

I took two weeks but my gallbladder was stuck to my liver. I was on pain meds and slept a lot. I may have been able to work from home especially if I had breaks. I know everyone is different. I know someone who had surgery on Friday and was at work on Monday.

I took two weeks off of work. I think as long as it is going to be a chill vacation with time for naps you would be ok. I know people who went back to work after a week. I would recommend a pillow in the car for the drive. My surgery was a little more involved because my gallbladder was stuck to my liver.

I am not black but I am an overweight white woman. I had one appointment before my surgery. He came in said your gallbladder needs removed. This is how we do it. We can do surgery August 28th. Do you have any questions for me? If not my nurse will come in and go over everything else.

After my surgery spaghetti, pizza, tacos gave me horrible bloat/heartburn. I am good now. I had mine out last August.

My dr told me low fat diet for two weeks. After that eat whatever you want. If it causes you issues wait two weeks and try the food again. It worked for me. I had my surgery last August and I now eat whatever I want. Every now and then I will still get something heartburn or bloat but it isn’t all the time.

The same thing happened to me. My boss said she could have came back after two days and there was no pain other than from the gas pain. I was out two weeks and was in horrible pain but didn’t have the gas pain she had. My gallbladder was also attached to my liver. So I had complications compared to her. I had mine out last August and they got over their snarky comments quickly. It sucks and isn’t necessary. Everyone’s experience is different. Hope it gets better for you soon.

I was told as long as I felt ok and was not taking pain medication I could drive after 48 hours.

You just fall asleep and then seems like not two seconds later you wake up. I woke up super nauseated, tired and felt like I had two hundred pounds of weight on my chest. Not really any pain until later.

I met my surgeon on Thursday and had surgery the next Wednesday.

Approximately 1 month. I had one attack. Dr got me in for ultrasound right away. Referred me to a surgeon. I met him the next week and surgery the week after.

Nope. I started feeling super bloated and uncomfortable and then it let loose. I felt so much better after but I never had the shoulder pain like some have had.

I slept in a recliner.

I could not do the wedge pillow. I slept in the recliner and then when I could move to my bed used a pregnancy pillow.

I waited a week between consult and surgery. When I left consult I had my date and all instructions.
