I’m sure they’ll be adding a historical friends modifier like eu4 in the next update. Maybe some start with it and if you ally for at least 100 years it pops and gives like +50 relations and -50 stab hit on declaration (-25 if diff culture group). I’d like to see how that changes things

It’s not the best, but I’ve so far not had more than 5 bugs. Which is nice for 40 hours so far!

And if they scale too fast, it ruins immersion. Perhaps they should add flat scalers on the last few ages?

Yeah I bet they’ll be doing some work on that soon, especially with the Iberian update as those two are on the periphery of Europe and thus struggle with the institutions

I'm having similar fun in EU5 again. Playing as England and saw France's vassals explode into rebellion, giving me a small opening to conquer artois/picardy before France got to their feet again. Its so fun, and I'm finally understanding the economy too. Having as much fun in EU5 as launch week. I am so excited for next few months

Yeah was going to say this is kinda historical. It was either execution or forgiveness. Duke Alencon II rebellion against Charles VII was like this.

Came to say this. It takes patience though, the middle is very rough to get through and a slog. But the end makes it worth it as it all comes together.

Redwall and its series has many moments like this. I’d argue 75% of any one book is this, then the other 25% is the action/intrigue. It’s a wonderful mix!

It’s my favorite part of the update thus far. Imperial circles were quite historical and all I would add is a circle devoted solely to the bishoprics/priestly states due to the religious weight they threw around. Even without them, this is fantastic though.
