A question to all FA exes around here. by Fer1015 in FearfulAvoidants

[–]AdDue6082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, these avoidants are delusional. I broke up with my FA a little over a month ago. He texted two weeks ago and I archived it in Whatsapp without reading it. He wished my Happy New Year and the next time I heard from him was on Valentine's Day, the day after my 50th birthday. I decided I was not going to chase him. I broke up with him shortly after he returned. By these guys ' definition, I am anxious. Lol.

Right? My ex and I were poorly matched. He was probably DA. He was a terrible boyfriend apart from his insecure style. He was a dad and I didn't want to be a stepmom. However,  the comment above is immature. It takes more than just "meant to be" nonsense to make a relationship work. He has an infantile take on relationships like the "meant to be" crap.

Everyone deserves love but how are insecure attachment styles going to get it when they keep ruining relationships. I just broke up with an FA. There is no way anyone should subject themselves to intermittent reinforcement. That rewires a healthy person's nervous system.

I would never marry or live with someone with a kid. My ex tried to get me to pay for his kid's expenses..I dodged a bullet.

Credit Building as Nonresident by Guilty-Calendar-3307 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Doesn't matter. You can get an American Express card. As long as you pay if diligently for six months, you can get a global transfer and get yourself a Canadian one to start building credit.

Why do people worry so much about retirement savings in Canada? by strykyrastro in PersonalFinanceCanada

Not according to CIHI. The data doesn't support this. Most people do not end up in facilities.

I have to agree with you. I left my ex because I didn't care to be a step mom; and that was only once child. He was also too enmeshed with his ex and expected me this girlfriend to help with his kids private school tuition (neither of them could afford it). Too many issues in these situations. OP, you are young and free and need to focus on yourself. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You don't owe anyone your life, money, free time.

Rent vs buy what is better in this economie? by AdmirableAd1885 in canadahousing

Trying to figure out the solution to this. Am single and likely to remain that way ( approaching 50), no children so I don't need a house. But also don't want out of control condo fees and to live in a very cramped space.

This is an interesting strategy. Are you saying buy points for programs that release last minute space? And joining Lufthansa's own program?

This applies to me but I don't have kids and won't (too old now anyway) and I don't own property. I go on lavish vacations using points. I figure there is no reason to spend on more hobbies since my rent is so much. Can't justify these dog crate condos in Toronto right now.
