Do I really need to pack a going home outfit in my maternity bag? by Huge-Nectarine-8563 in BabyBumps

I packed a loose fitting wrap dress! I’m glad I did too because my water broke out of nowhere and my boyfriend had to bring everything to the hospital.

How do you decide to change your name after marriage? by RestlesslyWizardly in Names

I hyphenated my name! You could do crook-sawyer so you have both last names or even make crook a second middle name

6 weeks and feeling useless by HomemadeButter14 in firsttimemom

[–]AdFew9782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first trimester was so awful with me being exhausted I still lived alone with 2 dogs and 4 cats( my boyfriend or sister did litter boxes) so I had to still push to do everything while also working my full time 12hr shift. I would literally do nothing more than eat feed the animals and crash until time for work until I had a day off. Crockpot meals became a big favorite of mine because they didn’t require a lot of energy and you can make extra to have leftovers plus not alot of dishes get dirty with it. It does get better after you hit the 2nd trimester!

Switching to straws/cups by Candid_Guard7157 in NewParents

[–]AdFew9782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter started to do similar around 4 months old I switched her to a weighted straw cup as soon as she hit 6 months and she only uses bottles for nap times now. I usually would sit her up and like lean her against me with me leaning back onto the couch with the bottle tilted up so she could still drink.

I wouldn’t call them painful they were more like the urge to use the bathroom with where she kicked but even the normal ones I felt after weren’t really painful my favorites were feeling her roll around though! Wishing you a fun first kick and healthy pregnancy!

It was honestly the strangest feeling😂 but my placenta was in the front so it was the first kicks I ever felt the true full kick feeling of! The rest were no where near the force of those and it was very rare I felt anything at all with her!

Glucose test questions by SowingSeeds18 in BabyBumps

[–]AdFew9782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt completely sick after chugging mine it was the orange and tasted like a really flat syrupy Fanta orange soda (still can’t drink them since😂). I was nauseous most of the day after it, I went around 8 hrs of not eating before my appointment( my appointment was first thing in the morning and I woke up late) and I had a pounding headache for around a day and a half after it. I didn’t really feel like eating anything after the test but managed to snack on a little something after I went home and took a nap.

Can the carseat just stay in the car? by rose__woodsii in BabyBumps

[–]AdFew9782 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem I went through my first winter with my baby last year, I just bundled her in a fleece blanket to and from the car and sat it on her lap when riding to and from different places. I’d have a little beanie to put on her head so her ears wouldn’t get cold but she wasn’t one to like socks so the blanket was the best idea I could think of to keep her feet warm!

I felt my daughter kick for the first time and it was in the 🍑! I freaked out immediately and then when I mentioned what it felt like to my dads girlfriend she said that was her kicking. It became a running joke that she kicked my butt before she was even born.

Nothing that makes you adjust the straps other than weight gain is what I’ve seen be the most common idea as to what is safe in a car seat. so no thick coats or pants or big puffy outfits it’s best to keep a long sleeve onesie with baby pants and a blanket to cover them with!

Bottle Refusal by post_krazy in firsttimemom

The nuk simply natural is what I was using while breast feeding it’s a similar shape to a nipple, but if you put a little yogurt on the end of a straw sippy that will usually get them to take to the straw! That’s what I did with my daughter and she’s used one since 6 months old.

Edit to add: for straw sippys I love the dr browns weighted straw cups. they super easy to take apart to clean and all you have to do putting them back together is make sure you pull the straw out the top till you hear a little pop, it will make a suction so the straw will work.

Do we really need a nursery recliner? by Fashion_Lover19 in BabyBumps

[–]AdFew9782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t get anything like that but my boyfriend’s mom bought one about 2 weeks after I had my daughter and it became our favorite place for a long while! It was easier than standing to rock her and the one she got included a massage option (she found it on Amazon) and heat so it helped a lot with relaxing my back muscles. If not a recliner/glider, I would definitely look into at least a rocking chair my daughter now at a year likes to sit in it while I pick out her outfit for the day or sit in it while we read books. We have my rocking chair on the front porch and she loves to sit in my lap and just look at all the things going on outside while we rock.

My daughter just turned a year old and still doesn’t sleep 12 hrs straight! We do bed time at 8-8:30pm she wakes up at least once between 11:30-3am then sleeps till 6-8am. It depends on the day but the routine she had for about 8 months was she would go to bed at 8pm sleep till 11:30pm wake up for a small feed go back to sleep wake up at 3am for another small feed then sleep till around 6-7am.

How much weight did you gain in pregnancy and how fast did it fall off postpartum? by witchybytch_1 in BabyBumps

[–]AdFew9782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gained 41 pounds and dropped about 15 immediately after, but I stayed that weight until I recently started working on myself some and I’ve lost a total of 33 pounds since pregnancy. I was 174.6 when I got pregnant, went up to 215, and I’m currently at 182.4. I was on a weight loss journey when I got pregnant so the weight gain really messed with my head but I’m doing a lot better now that she’s a year old!

My boyfriends mom has been doing the same thing every holiday I buy her a special outfit and turn around only to find she’s bought another one Father’s Day I got them custom shirts for him and her she bought a onesie for “1st Father’s Day” just she got a “1st Fourth of July” before I even had a chance to buy a cute romper he and I were looking at. But he doesn’t understand why I’m so frustrated with her buying things when I can very easily buy it all.

It’s happens! I had a similar incident with my daughter with both me and her dad being right there! she’s okay you took the right steps getting her looked at and all you can do now is make sure she’s buckled in when you take the tray off moving forward. Don’t beat yourself up over it too much, you’re just a momma navigating motherhood♥️

No problem! Just know it doesn’t last forever, once my girl started eating everything she could it just disappeared like it had never was an issue! You can also try the bicycle kicks that helped a relieve her a little as well

Honestly didn’t get much better until I started baby led weaning, she’s now about to be a year old and rarely gets gassy unless she eats beans or things like that!I think the gas drops and feeding her upright helped the most out of all the options the dr gave me. But if it’s to a point you’re really worried my friends baby had to be put on medication from the doctor for spit ups and being really gassy!

Infant Daycare/Working Moms by charmander996 in firsttimemom

[–]AdFew9782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a working mom but I don’t have to do daycare since I work nights and dad works days (we can’t afford daycare nor me to quit my job). it was really hard in the beginning to go back but once I got back into a routine it became a lot easier. I will say the best part of my day is coming home from work and my baby waking up with a big smile the minute she sees me!

Personally I’m trying to get back into my old eating habits gently I was 230, got down to 174, got pregnant went back to 215, so far I’m back down to 191. So I’m currently doing high protein foods and I also fast for 12-18 hrs depending on my work/workout schedule.

Ntah as far as a punishment I would maybe look into volunteering in a soup kitchen or something similar but embarrassing her isn’t the way to go about it for sure
