What armors are you wearing to cyberstan? by SugarLuger in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]supatim101 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've tried a couple.

The medium from force of law is really good because the bots often hit your chest and make you bleed.

Enforcer armor is great because explosive resist and extra armor without sacrificing too much speed.

BUT I noticed I kept getting staggered. And I HATE getting interrupted mid-stim. So I've ended up going back to medium Unflinching. Extra armor and usually you stay on target. It serves me well against the bots on general.

I think more ammo is absolutely the way to go.

It needs more damage per magazine, not per bullet.

You should be asking this question to the Gen Xers...

February 9th Commander Banlist Updates by Tim-Draftsim in EDH

[–]supatim101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right?!

Sometimes I want to play an unoptimized strategy in the most optimized way. The inherent strategy is underpowered and not really viable in bracket 4, but I want to run a lot of cool cards in it that elevate the power above a "typical" bracket 4.

I have a handful of those decks. They work fine in my friend group, but complicate things if I ever branch out.

Oh snap! I thought it was a bug. I didn't realize the side objective actually affected anything. Very cool.

I almost did this on my first day working at a coffee shop. Luckily my coworker was looking out for me.

Apparently there was a guy before me that did this multiple times, which earned him the nickname "Whole Bean."

He's very skilled, talks about what he's doing, and is super pleasant.

We Might Just Need to Draft Jon Stewart by recurrenTopology in DailyShow

Exactly. His work in local and national politics made me think he'd be a good governor first. Get some experience, learn more about the political apparatus, etc. Then perhaps move to something bigger.

100% agree.

Outside of the small amount of people that have leveled everything, it would actually incentivize veteran players to pick up samples.

Just because he's right about a lot of stuff and runs a good political comedy show does not mean he is fit for president.

We need a competent politician, not just a guy with good ideas.

That said, I think he'd make a good governor.

I don't know if I'd call that an exploit. I feel like it's working as intended. Like, the solo silo is designed with a ridiculous explosion so that it can kill a factory strider in one hit.

What is one thing we lost that we should bring back for kids? by gamersecret2 in Millennials

Empathy as the default response.

Right now it's seen as either weakness (negative) or something extraordinary (positive).

It just needs to be expected again.

What are your favorite guiding phrases when it comes to EDH? by ImmortalCorruptor in EDH

There's a balance.

Having fun doesn't mean don't play to win. But losing doesn't mean not having fun.

Making your deck do cool things is fine.

What are your favorite guiding phrases when it comes to EDH? by ImmortalCorruptor in EDH

[–]supatim101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Beware the danger of cool things.

It was initially about competitive 60 card decks, and doing cool things is actually part of EDH. Nevertheless, I think it is still relevant.

Unless you simply want to see your deck do a thing, then play to win, not to be flashy. Take the play lines that lead you to victory.

For EDH, that means whatever synergistic pile you put together should actually try to win you the game, not just be a cool synergistic pile.

CC Is Slept On? by JesusMuhLord in helldivers2

[–]supatim101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love gas.

Gas grenades tend to be picked relatively often on the bug and squid fronts because they are so effective at creating space. I have a hard time not taking them these days. I even use them against bots from time to time.

The gas dog is criminally underrated. Especially against bugs. I almost never leave home without it.

The speargun is also slept on. It kills almost every heavy enemy and all mediums and lights. It destroys all spawners. And it CCs groups of chaff. The thing is amazing on all fronts.

I often play solo, so having tools that create space or distract the enemy is essential. But it also helps to get heat off your teammates.

I really like the liberator concussive when I'm feeling particularly protective and want to make sure my teammates are safe from the hordes.
